“Got a minute?” I ask as I walk over and pour myself some coffee.

“Sure. What’s up?” Blaze says as he looks up at me.

“Do you want to go on the first trip?”

Blaze’s eyes flash with hatred. “Yes.”

I spend the next few hours showing Blaze everything that has been planned out for each man, but going into finer detail for the one he’s going after. Most of them are no ones. Just fucking perverts who won’t be missed when they disappear. There are two who aren’t going to be that easy, though. They’re a set of brothers who run a multi-million-dollar business. I haven’t quite figured out how we’re going to deal with them yet, but I will.

In the meantime, we have enough fuckers to keep us busy. Blaze is all for the plans I’ve come up with. Some are going to die in what looks like a home invasion. Other’s muggings. Even a few suicides. None of them are going to make it out alive, that’s for sure.

The next morning, I’m woken by my phone ringing. When I look at the caller ID, it says Joker. If I remember rightly, he’s helping cover the main gate while we’re down to only one prospect, Eric.

“Hello,” I say as I answer the call.

“Hey Blade, we have a problem.” Joker says.

“What’s up?” I say, as I shoot out of bed and start pulling clothes on.

“Fuck. Your Mom and Dad are standing outside the gates, man.”

I stop in my tracks at his words. What the fuck? How are they out? Why didn’t I know they were out? Shit. I need to pull myself together and deal with this.

“Do not let them inside. I’ll be there shortly.”

Hanging up, I carry on dressing and look over at the bed. Sera is staring at me, her eyes full of worry.

“What’s wrong?” She asks.

“My parents are at the gate, Angel. I need to go and deal with this.”

Her eyes fill with hatred at my words, and she’s suddenly hopping out of bed and getting dressed fast.

“I’m fucking coming with you, and don’t even try to argue with me. You best fucking text everyone as well so they’re aware.”

Fuck, she’s right. I didn’t even think about making the other Officers aware of what’s happening. Pulling out my phone, I send a quick group text to them all. Hopefully, Wrath and Flame will see it and keep Cam far a-fucking-way. My sick as fuck father does not need to be getting any idea's about Cam. He's the perfect age for what my Dad likes most.

“Don’t forget Mama June.” Sera says with a smirk.

That makes me chuckle. I have no idea if Mama June is even around today, but it’s best to let her know. She’ll kick up a big fuss if she isn’t made aware.

Once we’re both dressed, we head out of Blaze’s house and towards my bike. Normally I’d walk, but I want to get there as quickly as I can and get rid of them. It only takes minutes to arrive at the gates, and as we park, I hear more bikes. Looking over my shoulder, I see Wrath, Flame, Eagle, Ink, and Rock all riding towards us. They’ve fucking come out in force, that’s for sure. I couldn’t be more thankful for the support. I know I’m going to need it. I never thought the day would come where I’d have to face my so-called parents, but I know I can do it with my chosen family and my Angel at my back.

I wait for them all to park and dismount before walking towards the gates and nodding for Joker to open them. I step through hand in hand with Sera, with everyone else spread out behind us.

I get my first look at my so-called parents for the first time since they were locked up, and they don’t look good. They both look like they’ve aged at least twenty years since they’ve been locked up. Both of their faces are now wrinkly and full of stress lines. Their hair is now gray. Looking at them, I feel nothing. They mean nothing to me anymore. They are just two people who provided my DNA. They gave up the right to be anything more when I was a child. I know the only reason I feel this way is because Sera healed something inside of me that I didn’t realize needed healing, until she entered my life.

“What are you doing here?” I ask, voice hard.

“We wanted to see our son and tell you we forgive you.” My former mother says.

Her words earn snorts from everyone except Sera, whom I feel squeeze my hand hard.

“You’ve got to be fucking joking.” Sera spits out. “After what you two did, you fucking turn up here and say you forgive him. He did nothing wrong!” She’s shouting by the time she finishes speaking.

Letting go of her hand, I wrap my arm around her shoulder and pull her against me. Whispering into her hair, I say, “Calm down. You don’t need to be getting worked up.”
