“Ready to talk yet?”

Lanky just shakes his head. I pull the ice pick out of his right hand and repeat the move on his left. His eyes are wide with pain. His palms both have nice holes in them and are covered in blood. I’m not quite finished with my ice pick yet, though. I pull back and stab it repeatedly into his left shoulder joint. It slides through like a knife through butter. Me hitting the spot I needed just right,

“Blade please.” Lanky begs.

I can’t help but laugh at him. Does he honestly believe that’s going to work with me? For fuck sake, I’m not an Enforcer for no reason. This shit I enjoy, and until he talks, I’m going to keep inflicting pain.

As I carry on working over Lanky, I can hear Patricia answering Mama June's questions. Like how she managed to get pregnant with Sera. It turns out Patricia used make-up, contacts, and a wig to change her appearance so she wouldn't be recognized, and then attended one of the massive open parties that were thrown at The Clubhouse back then. She couldn't resist sleeping with Blaze again; apparently, he was the best she'd ever had. That was something I really didn't need to know.

Mama is seriously not impressed with what Patricia has to say, I can tell by the disgusted look on her face. It's a good thing none of Blaze's kids aren't down here. I doubt any of them want to know about how good Blaze supposedly is in bed.

I tune them back out and turn my full attention back to Lanky. I wouldn't want him to think he's getting off easy now, would I?

Chapter Twenty-Four

Sera

My weekend with Blade has been nothing short of perfect. That man is something else, and I know I’m lucky I get to call him mine. He told me he wasn’t going to rush me into sleeping with him, and I appreciated the sentiment, but I’m not planning on waiting long. I know what I want, and it’s him. That’s not going to change with any more time passing.

I need to get my thoughts off Blade, though. It’s my first day as Wreck’s apprentice at Devil’s Ink, and I don’t want to fuck this up. I never dreamed I could make something of myself using my art. I think differently now after the way Wreck reacted to my sketch, though.

Everyone I’ve met here so far seems lovely. Especially Jackie; I can tell she runs this place with an iron fist. She treats all the staff like her kids. It’s actually quite funny to watch. I imagine she and Mama June probably get along quite well, and if they don’t know each other, then they should. They’re two peas in a pod.

The other tattoo artists seem okay too. They were all busy, though, so other than saying hi, I haven't spoken to them. There are four of them. The triplets. Orion, Damion, and Atlas. They all have dark hair and blue eyes; however, each of them has different colors on the tips of their hair. Orion has baby blue, Damion has deep red, and Atlas has a really pale green. The other artist is a woman named Luna; she has dark blue, almost black hair and piercing green eyes. According to Wreck, she's been through her own shit and tends to keep to herself, and is really quiet. Once I've got time, I'm going to make it my mission to become her friend; it sounds like we could both use one.

Wreck has placed me in the work space next to his, and after going over how to use and look after my tattoo gun, he’s left me to get used to it. It’s harder than I expected, but I do think with a bit of practice I’ll get used to it.

About an hour after he left, Wreck walks through the door. Giving me a small smile, even if it doesn’t reach his eyes the way I’d expect.

“Everything okay?” I can’t help but ask.

“Yeah Sera. Just stressed.”

“Anything I can help with?”

“Not unless you know where your brother is hiding.” By brother, I assume he means Shadow, as he’s the brother who pulled a disappearing act after Cam’s birthday.

“Not a clue. I thought you’d spoken to him.”

“I have, but he won’t tell me where he is, and that worries me. He’s been secretive for a while now, but this is a new level even for him.”

“Have you told Wrath?”

“Not yet, but if he doesn’t show his face today, I’m going to have to.”

Getting up, I go and give Wreck a quick hug. He’s clearly really worried about my brother, and that makes me worried. I know how close they are, and if Shadow is hiding shit even from Wreck, that’s not good. Not good at all.

“I’m sure you’ll figure it out.” I say as I pull back.

“Hope so. You may as well head home. I’m useless today.”

“You sure?”

“Yeah, come on.” He says, as he spins and heads for the door.

I’m not going to argue with him; if he says to go home, then I’m going home. Hopefully, this means I get to spend some more time with Blade. That is, if he’s not busy.

Arriving at The Clubhouse, I’m greeted by Flame, who’s waiting in The Common Room for me. I’m guessing Wreck told him I was coming home.
