“I can, and I will. Now Piston, if you don’t mind, will you remove this bitch from my Clubhouse before I forget the fact that I don’t hit women?”

Piston moves towards Jasmine, grabbing her arm and starting to guide her from the room. As she’s about to leave, she turns to look at me and Sera.

“This is your fault. You’ll both regret this.”

Piston just carries on dragging her from the room. Once she’s gone, I turn Sera in my arms and hug her to my chest. I know how hard this has got to be on her. There’s no way she wanted her family to find out this way. We’re going to have to deal with this; that’s a fact.

“Everyone go back to it. Shows over.” Wrath shouts into the room.

Everyone listens, except for Sera’s family and Wreck. I know why Wreck has stayed. Shadow looks utterly fucking broken by what he’s learned. He’s going to need Wreck’s support to get through the conversation that’s to come. Wrath still looks absolutely livid. Flame looks angry himself, but he’s currently got his husband clamped in his grip, no doubt holding him back. Blaze looks distraught. I can see in his eyes that he wants to comfort his daughter, but he can also see that she’s where she wants to be. In my arms. Where she belongs.

“Angel.” I whisper, grabbing her attention. “Are you ready for this?”

She looks up at me, her eyes filled with tears that she’s holding back.

“As long as you’re with me.”

That right there makes me feel thousands of feet tall.

“Always.”

That gains me a watery smile. I drop a kiss on her forehead. As much as I want to kiss the shit out of her, now isn’t the time, and we need to have a serious conversation before that can happen. Right now, our focus needs to be on the conversation to come.

“Take her to Church Blade. We’ll be there soon. I'm just going to speak to Tech and Cam.” Wrath says.

Nodding my head, I guide Sera out of the room, arm over her shoulder. I know why he picked Church. The room is big enough to contain everyone it needs to while also giving everyone enough space to lose their shit safely. And losing their shit is going to happen. I only know the basics of what happened to her back then, and I know this is going to go into a lot more than the basics. She’s going to have to tell us about the grim things her so-called fucking mother forced her into—things no fucking child should ever have to experience, especially because of the person who is meant to protect them above all else. I know the details are going to destroy something inside Wrath, Shadow, and Blaze. They’re going to blame themselves for not knowing about her and being unable to protect her from being repeatedly abused and raped. She never had to say the words; I could fucking see it in her eyes when we spoke. The same look that lingers in my own. She’s right about one thing: pain recognizes pain.

Chapter Twenty

Flame

Absolute shitshow. That’s the best way to describe what’s just happened. Why Jasmine thought what she did was a good idea, I’ll never know. And now Wrath and I have got to go and talk to our son and explain what’s happened. On his goddamn birthday.

What was just revealed is something that is going to impact us all. I can already tell it’s affecting Wrath, Shadow, and Blaze. Not like I would expect anything less. They all suspected Sera didn’t have a good time growing up with Patricia, but I don’t think any of them imagined it was quite this bad.

I suspected something after my conversation with Blade the other day, so part of me was prepared for it. I just wasn’t expecting it to be quite this bad. Wrath is currently on a mission to get to Cam. He’s speed-walking down the corridor towards Tech’s cave.

Reaching the door, it opens from the inside, and Tech is standing there. Looking worried. We enter after Tech, and we find Cam sitting at one of Tech’s stations. On the screen in front of him is The Common Room.

“You don’t need to say anything. I watched it all.” Cam says, as he turns around to face us. Looking a lot older than his twelve years.

“I’m sorry, son.” Wrath starts to say.

“No Dad. You are not going to stand there and apologize. After what I just saw, I want nothing to do with Jasmine again. She’s proven she’s just as bad as my Mom.”

Fuck, I hate this. Why couldn’t Jasmine have just put the bullshit to one side for Cam? He’s done nothing but open his arms to her, despite everything he’s been through. Instead, she decided to play games. Why the hell did she have to be more like her sister than we thought?

“I’m sorry this happened on your birthday.” I say, as I walk towards him.

“Me too, but I’m not going to let it ruin it. I know you all need to go and talk, so I’m going to go back to the party with Tech.”

He’s so mature and grown up. I can’t believe he’s only twelve. I’m a lucky fucker to have him as my son. That’s for sure. Watching, he stands and starts to walk out, with Tech following behind him.

“I’ve got this.” Tech says as he leaves.

With them both back on their way to the party, I know we need to go into Church and talk with Sera. I know my husband is going to need me now more than ever. This is going to impact him a lot.

“Ready babe?” I ask.
