Chapter Six

Zora slid from between Heath and Gavin’s bodies. Her heart still raced a mile a minute and her pussy throbbed with the need to be filled. Her panties were soaked and the crushing feeling of being unfulfilled left her breathless with need. Despite all this, she felt an unexplained guilt at seeing the stormy green gaze bore into her.

“What’s the meaning of this?” Logan demanded, advancing in the room. His hair was damp and hung haphazardly over his forehead. He appeared to be freshly showered and she couldn’t help but admire his masculine appeal. Though he wore clothes, the dark-green plaid shirt with the sleeves cuffed above his elbows showed off the definition of his massive arms and the broadness of his chest.

She was staring so hard it barely registered he’d asked a question until Gavin spoke. “We were telling her that she’s our mate. I think she’s taking it all in stride.”

Logan’s lips thinned briefly. “Oh, and I suppose telling her involved Heath’s tongue down her throat and your hands all over her ass. Was it even an hour ago when you two told me I was going too fast? To give her time? Yet you two get to fuck her?”

Heath gave his cousin a half-smirk. “We couldn’t help ourselves.”

Zora’s cheeks flamed with embarrassment. She refused to be some bone of contention, particularly when she was still trying to sort through her feelings. She held up her hands. “Don’t argue. I want no part of this pissing contest. Logan, you can’t get angry with Gavin and Heath when you grabbed me at first sight and practically tossed me on the couch.”

Logan snorted. “Not that you were doing much resisting.”

Zora shot him a glare before turning her attention to Heath and Gavin. “And you two. How is it fair to Logan when you do the very thing you told him not to? So all of you guys just settle down. This is a lot to take in and I need some time to think things through. I also have to get in contact with Bernice to—oh shit! Bernice! She was expecting me. She must be worried. I have to get in contact with her.”

“Bernice?” Gavin asked.

“My cousin. She had a job lined up for me and a place for me to rent. I hope she doesn’t think I flaked on her. Is there any way I can get to town and contact her?”

“Of course. I can drive you,” Gavin volunteered. “That way you can get some supplies you may need for your stay here.”

Zora raised a brow at his assumption. “I never said anything about staying for a long period of time. Once I get in contact with Bernice, she may find a way to help me get up there. Is there a bus station in town?”

The men exchanged looks as if silently communicating something they didn’t want her to know.

“What?” She demanded.

Gavin gave his cousins another look before answering. “If you want to leave, then we won’t keep you here against your will—”

“Like hell—” Logan began, but Gavin held up his hand, cutting the blond off.

“Like I said, we can’t keep you here if you don’t want to stay. However, we’d really like it if you’d consider staying. Even you admit there’s something between us. You also inadvertently admitted being in between jobs. Why the rush to get away when you can stay here. It’s not like you’re adverse to our touch. You respond beautifully to us, and I think I speak for me and my cousins when I say no woman has ever made us feel the way you do. And before you make the argument of us barely knowing each other, give us the chance. We come to this little getaway once a year for a month. We have three more weeks and we’d like you to spend them with us.”

Zora crossed her arms. “To fuck the three of you, you mean?”

Heath answered with a chuckle. “Sweetheart, it’s inevitable that’s going to happen, but we mean stay with us. Nothing will happen that you don’t want.”

She sent a questioning look to Logan who stood silently brooding. “Does that go for you too?”

He hesitated for a moment before grunting, “Yes.”

“I don’t know… I don’t want to let Bernice down.” Zora grasped for an excuse. After the number Dale had done on her, she’d spent years avoiding any deep emotional commitment. She’d dated some while she lived in Covington, but every time a guy started to get serious, she ended things. Now she wondered if it was out of fear of what had happened to her or if deep down she’d always known she was waiting for something more—like Gavin, Heath and Logan.

The very thought of it sent a shiver up her spine. One of the last things her Nana had said to her before she’d passed was to live every day as if it was her last and never be afraid to take chances. She took a deep breath and then decided to at least talk to Bernice before contemplating her next course of action.

“Okay,” she finally answered. “Once I get in contact with my cousin, I’ll give you an answer.”

Gavin smiled at her, showing off strong white teeth. “Great, we can go anytime you’d like.”

She liked the way his eyes twinkled and the corners of them crinkled. Her heart did an involuntary flip-flop. What was in this family’s DNA that gave these handsome men the ability to melt her with just a glance?

She looked away nervously. “We could go now…if you don’t mind.”

He held out his hand to her. She placed hers in his palm and it was immediately engulfed by strong but gentle fingers. “Let’s go.”

“Take care of her,” Logan growled.
