I look back at Jaycent and Becca, and she is nodding her head excitedly with a big smile on her face. He still holds her Louis Vuitton suitcase.

“It’s Thursday,” I say, trying to understand what is going on. “I can’t miss work ...”

“It’s already taken care of,” Ryder says.

“What?”

“I spoke to Thomas, and you are all good to go.” He smiles down at me, his green eyes lit up with happiness. I hate to ruin it for him or seem ungrateful, but I’m just a little confused right now.

“Okay. I haven’t packed,” I tell him.

“No need; it won’t take you long to pack.” He looks down at his phone in his hand. “We have an hour before the plane leaves.”

“An hour?” I ask wide-eyed. “This airport is huge. We should already be there if our plane leaves in an hour.”

Jaycent laughs and so does Ryder. I feel like they know some inside joke I don’t. “We’ll be fine, babe. Go pack.”

“Where are we going?” I ask. “I’m not sure what to bring.”

“One sec.” He opens up his phone and types on it then speaks. “It’s eighty-nine degrees and a chance of rain today and tomorrow.”

My brows pull together. “Are you not going to tell me where we’re going?” I ask, and he shakes his head.

“It’s a surprise.”

I smile up at him because I think I know where we’re going. He’s taking us back to Florida.

Exactly forty-five minutes later, we pull up to a gate. Ryder pulls up an app on his phone and types in a code and the gate opens. I look around out the side of the Escalade window from the back seat. “This isn’t the airport,” I state.

Becca laughs. “This is where Ryder and my dad store their planes,” she says simply.

“Store their planes?” I ask, looking around at the big steel doors lined up one after another. It reminds me of going to a storage facility. Where all the garage doors are one after another. But these doors are much, much larger.

The Escalade comes to a stop in front of an open hangar. Milton gets out and then we all climb out one by one. “Where are we …?” I trail off as I look up at a private plane that sits right outside the open bay door. If possible, it looks fancier that the hundred-foot yacht I boarded weeks ago.

It’s mainly white with a blacked-out front window. It has eight circular windows down the side, and the door is open with a set of black stairs to enter. G550 is written across the tail section in big, bold black letters. “What is that?” I ask in awe.

“That’s Ryder’s private jet,” Becca whispers, leaning into my side.

I look over at him as he and Jaycent unload the luggage from the back. “You have your own jet?” I ask wide-eyed.

He smiles a cocky smile. “Of course.”

CHAPTER FOURTEEN

RYDER

I’m not gonna lie. This is a part of her that made me fall in love with her. That she isn’t used to the type of lifestyle I live. The women who I grew up with had parents just as rich as mine. Just to take them on a date, you had to go above and beyond to impress them. Ashlyn isn’t that way. Although I do love the look on her beautiful face when she looks at me like I’m her king giving her a key to my kingdom. I want to share everything I have with her.

“How else did you think we were going to get there?” I ask as I watch her stand there staring at me.

“A commercial airliner. Like us normal folk.” She makes a joke, and I laugh.

“We will be ready in ten, Mr. O’Kane,” Milton announces.

“You’re going too?” Ashlyn asks him with excitement.
