"I think we all have our fears and insecurities. I'm not judging. Who knows what this triggered?"

"I'm trying to think about that, but I don't really know."

He touched my lower lip with his tongue, tilting his head forward.

"No, no, no," I said and took a step back. "Oh, I knew I shouldn't have let you pull me that close. Let's go home, and then you can maul me all you want."

"Fuck yes!" he exclaimed.

Less than twenty minutes later, we were already at the house. I’d made a solid plan during the drive. First I was going to lure him into the sexy bathroom and get him in the bathtub. While we were in there, I was going to give him a thorough massage, and then he was getting the best sex of his life. I was super determined.

The second we arrived, I said, "I’m going upstairs to run some water in the tub."

He grinned. "Not so fast. Kissing first."

"No. I said you could kiss me. I didn't specify when."

He groaned, and before I knew it, he came forward, pressing his chest against mine, and walked me backward until my back was against the wall.

Well, when you put it that way, maybe kissing first is a good idea.

Chapter Twenty-Five

Scarlett

"What are you going to do now?"

"Since you've got me trapped like this, I guess I’ll have to endure the hardship," I teased.

When he tilted toward me, I closed my eyes. I felt his lips on my eyelids... then my mouth. I'd never get used to this man’s attention. It was slow at first, teasing. He only brushed his lips against mine. But then the kiss turned ferocious. God, the things he was doing to my mouth with his tongue. His hands, too, were going low on my waist, and then one slid between my legs, two fingers pressed straight across my clit over the dress.

I moaned without any restraints. I had no inhibitions around Chad, and it felt glorious. I’d never felt so free or happy with anyone.

I was already dreading Sunday when I‘d go back to my studio. I didn't want to lose this closeness. Sharing living quarters had brought an intimacy between us that I’d never imagined, and I wasn’t done exploring it.

"Anyone home?" resounded throughout the house.

Chad instantly pulled back. I was rooted to my spot. The voice belonged to one of his brothers, but I couldn't tell which one.

"His car was in the driveway," another one said.

“Maybe he’s upstairs,” came a third.

One was Zachary for sure. The other was maybe Xander? I thought the third one might be Beckett.

Chad looked straight at me and then gave me a half smile. Then he shrugged as if to say, "What can you do?"

"Come in," he said loudly.

What was I supposed to say or do? I wanted to quickly look in a mirror. The man had kissed me so thoroughly that I wouldn't put it past my mouth to be completely red and swollen. But there was no time for that because three men came into view. Xander stood a foot away from Zachary and Beckett. He was the one who noticed us first and narrowed his eyes. Zachary’s face exploded into the biggest grin I'd ever seen on anyone.

"What the hell, man? You're making her work after hours too?" Beckett asked.

Zachary actually burst out laughing. "Dude, that is not what's happening here."

Aaand my face was on fire. I was certain that he’d picked up on the fact that I’d been very thoroughly kissed just now.

"You move fast, brother,” Xander said.
