Her laugh makes my heart flutter.

Fuck, she’s so perfect.

Even when she’s crushing my manhood.

I smile at her, sitting on her knees on the floor of the kitchen, leaning over me a little. “About a ton. Are you okay? I didn’t have time to stop once I noticed you stopped walking.”

“Yeah, sorry, the kitchen took me by surprise.” She giggles, standing up, reaching her hand out as if she’s going to help me up. I accept her sweet gesture, even though she couldn’t really lift me even if she wanted to but so I can hold her hand and feel her touch me. When I stand up, I don’t let her go, just tug her over to the refrigerator with me.

“How does a sandwich sound?” I ask. I didn’t think this all the way through. The chef’s out at the market right now and will prepare dinner later, so we’re responsible for feeding ourselves lunch today, but I’m not a cook. I can’t cook for shit, but I do know how to make a sandwich.

“Sounds great. Although the staff never really fixed them for me back at the estate, so I don’t know what makes a good one,” she admits quietly, probably expecting what my next question was going to be, which was what she wanted on it, but no worries. I’ll give her the works.

“No worries, kitten, I’ll hook you up.” I give her my best smile, which works because she lets out that sweet little giggle. I can’t wait to taste that sound. If I could bottle it up and put it beside my bed and listen to it all day, I would.

“Why kitten? What happened to little wanderer?” she asks curiously, watching me pull out half of the contents in the fridge.

“I’ll still call you little wanderer, but you’re curious. It reminds me of a cat, but you’re so little, so a kitten.”

Her jaw drops and she puts her hand to her chest. “You know, in my realm, we have a saying. Curiosity killed the cat.”

“What?” I ask in horror.

“You should see your face right now. What startled you so much?” Her laughing eases the worry I have that I offended her, but she’s confusing me now.

“Well, first, that saying, who’d want to kill a cat? And second, I was afraid I offended you,” I admit, still confused about what to do now. Gah, women whom you care to impress can be complicated.

“You didn’t offend me. You’d know if that happened. I think kitten is cute.” She smiles, easing the rest of my worry away.

It makes me happy to know that she’d put me in my place if I stepped out of line. I wanted to go on a hunting spree when she first arrived looking like she just went multiple rounds in the ring and even though she showed a little of her personality last night, she was pretty shaken, so seeing this fiery side coming out excites me.

“Good to know, kitten.” I shoot her a wink and finish plating the sandwiches. They’re masterpieces, if I say so myself.

“It looks delicious, thank you,” she says happily as I slide the plate across the bar to where she’s sitting.

“Only my best work for you.” I give her my best panty-dropping smile.

I’m pulling out my most charming moves, just for her. Well, usually, I’d try to charm everyone, but now that she’s here, I won’t even look at another female. Fuck them all but her.

Shaking her head at me, she lifts the sandwich and takes a bite. I want to see her reaction, so I just sit here and stare, not touching my plate. And boy, am I satisfied as she lets out the slightest little moan.

Damn, who knew a woman eating would get my dick so hard.

“So you like it then?” I ask after clearing my throat and adjusting myself discreetly. I have to shove the sandwich in my mouth to keep from jumping across the bar and kissing her. I don’t think she’d appreciate that very much.

“It’s amazing. I’m surprised at how similar the food here is to my realm. It tastes better, fresher here, but it all looks the same.”

“From what little research I’ve done, and I do mean little, that’s Gaster’s domain or Caspian’s. Elementra is much older than the nonmagical realm, and it used to be easier to move between the two, so a lot of the animals, vegetables, all that originated here and passed through, adapted over time,” I inform her, proud of myself for being able to teach her something.

“So why the hell are there no blow-dryers here?”

What the fuck is a blow-dryer?

My confused look must give it away that I have no clue what she means. “Gaster didn’t know what a blow-dryer is either. He said there’s no use for such things here because everyone would use their element or gift. But a blow-dryer is a device you plug into the wall and hot air comes out and dries your hair after a shower.”

Huh, nifty, I guess. Fuck, I don’t know.

“Ah, I see. Yeah, completely useless here, I’m afraid. Where the nonmagical realm has grown by use of technology, since travel between the realms is more difficult, we don’t have to do that. Magic fuels everything here. Makes everything better.”
