“Welcome to The Voyager. My name is Antonio. I’ll be your guide for today. Is this your first time in Santorini?”
I nodded. “It’s our honeymoon.”
“Honeymoon! Beautiful! Congratulations. It’s my pleasure to be of service to you today. Come let me show you around before we get ready to leave.”
Jacob helped me onto the boat before climbing on himself. Antonio led us below deck, where we were met with an assortment of fruits, meats, cheeses, and a bottle of wine for our consumption. He introduced us to the rest of the crew then pointed out the life vests and gave safety measures before heading back up top to get ready to take off.
I quickly poured us each a glass of wine while Jacob plated us a little of everything before we headed back up to the deck. At the front of the boat was a sundeck already outfitted with a blanket. Jacob took a seat as I took off my coverup. I got the surprise of my life when I felt his teeth sink into my ass cheek.
“Ouch!” I shrieked, giggling uncontrollably. I looked back to find him grinning.
“My bad, baby. The intrusive thoughts won.”
I playfully mushed his head and took off my hat as he pulled me down between his legs. He reached in my bag and pulled out my sunscreen. Squirting some into his hands, he commenced massaging it into my skin. A smile of contentment played on my face as his hands rubbed all over me. When he was finished, he kissed my shoulder and wrapped his arms around me.
The boat slowly pulled away from the docks, and we made our way out to sea. The cool breeze eased the heat from the sun and caused my hair to blow in the wind.
“Do you ever wear your natural hair?” Jacob asked. “Not that this isn’t beautiful. I’m just curious.”
“I do. I typically get a sew-in or braids for special occasions and vacations just so I don’t have to manipulate my hair too much. I stay away from wigs, though. I’ve seen too many women walking around with bald ass edges from trying to lay that shit down.”
He chuckled. “I can’t lie and say I wouldn’t talk about your edges if they were bald.”
I playfully smacked him. “For better or worse, right? You promised to love me, bald edges and all.”
“You’re right. I’ll just get Jess to hook you up. She’s dragged me in the beauty supply store one too many times, and I saw they have these edges you can put on like temporary tattoo?—”
“You’re done! Temporary edges, Jacob!”
He laughed loudly. “I’m joking. Now that I would clown you about.”
“I’d clown my damn self.”
I relaxed in his arms as we looked out at the open sea. It was such a beautiful sight to behold. For the longest time, we sat on the sundeck, soaking up the rays, talking and feeding each other the snacks we’d brought up from below.
Before long, we were stopping to partake in the snorkeling experience. It was my first time, so I was super excited. We geared up and listened to the instructors’ rules before grabbing hands and jumping into the water. It was crystal clear, and that only heightened the experience.
We saw so many sea creatures and even got to touch a few. I almost wished I had a waterproof camera so I could capture the moment. Still, this was a memory that I would never forget. This entire honeymoon was something I’d never forget.
I wasn’t sure what it was, but something told me that life as Mrs. Jacob Mitchell was going to be a grand affair.
Today was our last day in Santorini, and I was a little sad that we were leaving in the morning. The good thing was, this wasn’t some vacation fling. I got to go home with this man and begin a whole new adventure. If this week had shown me anything, it showed me a glimpse of the soft life.
I could get used to that.
Today, we decided to lounge around the villa and simply enjoy each other’s company. We’d been in the midst of people all week long and just wanted a full day to ourselves. The day started with him waking me up with his head between my legs. I just knew whoever was staying next door heard me calling to the heavens because that man’s mouth was lethal.
After a much-needed shower, we migrated into the kitchen and cooked breakfast together. Aside from eating, we’d spent the day lounging around in the pool and laying out on the couch watching throwback movies. My heart was so full, and I couldn’t stop smiling.
“What do you think is waiting for us back home?” I asked.
We were sitting in the living room. I sat straddling his lap and playing in his locs as he massaged my thighs.
“I don’t know. I do know I need to speak with my parents. I’ve never spoken to them the way I did at the wedding. I’ll apologize for that, but they need to know that I don’t take back anything I said.”
“I’m sure my parents are furious about that, too. I don’t think you have anything to apologize for. You said what you said, and you weren’t nasty about it.”
“I know. I’d just rather clear the air and make peace… well, as much as possible.”
