At that moment, he perceived beyond any doubt that this bond between Katya and himself was real; it was wild and fokkin’ freakish - and he wanted all of it.

With a heavy breath, he turned around, facing her.

He found her eyes locked on him, mouth soft, eyes wary.

He broke.

With a surge of his thick thighs, he stepped forward, snaked a hand to her neck and latched onto her hair, pulling her face up.

His hold was forceful, unwavering.

Her body quivered against his, her eyes misting even as his heat washed over her.

Without a word, he bent his head and did what he’d longed to do for days.

He kissed her.

This was no gentle embrace.

This was raw hunger, a passionate and wild release of the tension, the longing, and the pent-up emotions building between them.

He enmeshed their mouths with a fierce intensity, his tongue dancing with hers, his hands cupping her face, his fingers knotting into her hair.

She responded with equal fervour, gripping his neck, dragging him closer, and deepening the kiss.

As they clutched to each other, the world around them faded away. Only the two of them existed, lost in a whirlwind of passion and desire.

Xion’s arms wrapped around her, pulling her near, his stroke sliding down her back, moulding her to himself.

His lips trailed down her nape, leaving a fire trail in their wake.

As their mouths parted, she gazed up at him, her eyes dilated and glassy, her breath ragged. She searched for words, but none came.

Tears glittered in her eyes as if she had found solace in this moment of surrender.

He cupped her face, thumbs brushing away the moisture that had escaped.

‘I’ve missed you,’ he whispered, his voice rough with emotion.

She leaned into his touch, her eyes a silent plea for forgiveness mingled with the pain of her betrayal. ‘I’m so sorry for everything, Xion. I’m willing to do whatever I need to show you my sincerity.’

‘Are you grovelling?’ he rasped.

She huffed. ‘Naam, not very well, but I mean every word.’

‘Show me how much,’ he growled.

His pent-up desire welled once more, and their mouths crashed against one another once more, their tongues twining together in a desperate dance; Katya moaned into his mouth.

Her hands gripped his shoulders, her fingers digging into the muscles that had hardened like iron from years of street fighting and kapo battles.

Xion’s hands roamed her body, caressing her curves and tracing the delicate lines of her collarbone. Her heart raced under his palm, echoing the pounding of his own.

He tore his lips from hers.

‘Mirage, some privacy,’ he growled.

A soft ping sounded of the AI receding into the system as the hush of the bridge settled on them like a shroud.
