“Got a minute?” he asks, and I nod, locking my screen and sitting back in my chair.

“What's up?”

“We've got an update with Wolfe; I’m pulling everyone in for a meeting at lunchtime. Work with you?”

I check the time and sigh.

“Yeah, fine. We have a doctor appointment at three so as long as we're wrapped up by then.”

“Yup that will be fine.” I nod. “Cool, see you at twelve. Lunch is being ordered soon.”

“Perfect,” I nod as he walks out the room, closing the door behind him.

I get I need to be kept in the loop, but I do feel I am kind of irrelevant in it all. Sure, the man is an absolute cunt. Granted. Will die on that hill, happily. But me and Arizona are not involved. I just want to stay in the bubble that we're currently in. Sighing, my eyes cast to the photo of me and her on my desk, the night we got married in Vegas, and for just a moment, I want to go back to that night.

My heart thumps, ignoring the way it skips a couple of beats and I bury my head back into my computer until I am called.

ARIZONA

Pushing through the doors of the small coffee shop, the sweet pastry smell mixed with coffee beans makes my stomach grumble. Why am I hungry? I haven't stopped eating this morning. Sage seeks me out before I notice her in the busy shop. Her hand waves me over and I make my way through the crowd. A small smile purses against my lips and she stands, kissing me on the cheek.

“How do you look so good?” I groan. Her bump is small and round, figure curvaceous and thick. She is stunning. Drop dead. Then there's me. Swollen hands, feet, stomach feels double the size.

“I don't, I am just wearing a black dress. Hides all my lumps and bumps,” she laughs as we take our seats and I wrap my hands round the hot chocolate Sage has already bought me.

“I'm just going to grab a muffin; do you want one?” I ask, pushing myself away from the table but she shakes her head from side to side. I choose a chocolate chip muffin and my mouth is already watering. Heading back to my seat, I smile. “So,” I let out a breathy sigh, “what's new?” I pick at my muffin, popping it past my lips.

“Not a lot,” she smirks, “missed you. I'm ready to have this baby now though, aren't you?” she sips her hot chocolate.

“Sort of,” I shrug, “a bit scared,” I admit.

“You wouldn't be human if you weren’t,” she reaches across the table and places her hand over mine.

“It's just gone so quick hasn't it.”

She nods.

“How's work been?” I ask and guilt consumes me. She made me manager and then I handed my notice in. I just couldn't face it anymore. Being pregnant and flaunting my body for greedy eyes and hands.

“Busy, I have pulled back now and left Dex in charge,” she smirks, “he is enjoying it.”

“That's good, how are the girls?”

I only care about one. Well, not sure if care is the right word anymore. Me and Lucy fell out after I found out about her message to Keaton. He messaged her and told her that we were married and to leave him alone. She didn't. Then she took it upon herself to start harassing me. I blocked her and cut her out of my life. Snip snip.

I have enough going on, what with the messages from TallDarkandHandsome. I really need to tell Keaton but it just doesn't feel like the right thing to do at the moment.

“Yeah they're good, all keeping busy. It's not the same without you...” she pauses and places her mug on the table. “Will you be back?”

It takes me a moment to answer, but not because I don't know what to say, but because I feel guilty. I shake my head from side to side, dropping my eyes as I watch my fingers pick away at the muffin.

“That's fair,” and I don't miss the sadness in her voice, “but we will still stay friends, right?”

“Of course,” I lift my eyes to look at her, head tilted to the side and now it's my turn to reach for her hand, brushing my thumb back and forth over her tattooed skin. “You're stuck with me now, plus, our kids will be the best of friends.”

“I really hope so,” she rubs her lips together, “we have Dex's half-brother, but he won't be interested in the baby when it comes. He’s six, he is more interested in football,” she scoffs. “Plus, Rhaegar, Dex's dad, still lives in England with his wife, Shay.” She casts her gaze down, crossing one leg over the other as she flicks her long, black hair over her shoulder.

“Well, ours will be the best of friends,” and I mean it.
