She frantically tossed back the covers and sprinted into the bathroom. After using the toilet and brushing her teeth and hair, she looked around for her clothes but found nothing.

“Oh, God.” She raced out of the bedroom and down the hallway but slid to an abrupt stop when four huge men, including Caden, sat at the dining table staring at her.

She could feel tears of mortification fill her eyes and turned to Caden. “I … I’m so sorry. I just wanted to find my clothing. I’ll go back to the bedroom and wait…”

Caden held out his hand. “Come here, Sweetheart.”

She stared at his hand for a long moment before walking to him. It helped settle her when his large, callused hand wrapped around her and squeezed.

“I’d like you to meet my partners,” Caden said. He pointed at each man. “That’s Macy, and he has a sub. Jake has one, and the last one is Link.”

“Who is single,” Link said and winked at her.

Bella could feel her face heat with a blush, and she took an involuntary step closer to Caden.

One of the other guys threw a wadded-up napkin at Link, making him laugh.

There seemed to be some kind of communication between the four that she couldn’t decipher.

“She’s a little bitty thing, isn’t she?” Jake said. “How old are you, Darlin?”

She let Caden talk for her because she couldn’t get her frozen body to move.

“Where did you work before here?” Link asked.

She came to the horrifying realization that they were interviewing her while she stood in nothing but Caden’s shirt. She didn’t even have panties on.

She bent down to Caden and spoke in his ear. “I need my clothes.”

“You’re fine for right now,” Caden said.

She gasped in his ear. “No. I’m practically naked,” she whispered furiously.

All four men smiled, turning her embarrassment up a notch.

“We just have a few more questions, Honey,” Macy said.

Caden wrapped an arm around her waist to hold her upright. She knew she must have looked ridiculous when she started to shake like a baby.

“Easy, Sweetheart. No one here would ever hurt you. In fact, we’ll make damn sure you’re safe with us,” Caden said.

Bella took a few breaths, then nodded and relaxed against him. It helped a little, but she was still immensely aware of the fact that she was wearing one piece of clothing.

They asked her several more questions, mostly about her jobs and schooling.

Link got up and moved a chair over to her. “Sit down. I’ll get you a glass of juice. Do you want some coffee, too?”

Bella shook her head. “No, thank you.” She let Caden pull the chair over until it touched his, and then he helped her sit but kept an arm around her. She made sure the shirt covered her before answering more questions.

“So, Caden told us your brother has been abusing you. Is he the one that caused the bruise on your forehead?” Macy asked.

Bella swallowed and nodded.

“And he’s not in jail? Why?” Link asked as he set a glass of juice down in front of her.

“Because I didn’t report it really. The sheriff knows, but he was more worried about getting me safe. He’ll deal with Randy at that time.”

“He’s investigating your brother right now,” Caden said. “He knows we’ll take care of you so he can concentrate on your brother.”
