The flight back goes pretty fast. Tyler and I have to reluctantly part ways so he can go meet up with the guys and find out how Ashton is. I’m heading home to unpack and collect Henry. Then I’ll meet Suse for a coffee and check back in with Ty and see if he has news about what’s going on with Ashton’s dad.

Just being with him this weekend has really made me realize how there are good guys in the world, and the fact that I’ve held back for so long because of what happened with Damon. I still haven’t told him about the time someone grabbed me at my car on campus. I know he would hit the roof and probably try to hunt the guy down.

I was lucky that time, but it sure put enough fear in me to last me a lifetime.

I know it’s early days with Ty, but I can’t help my feelings toward him.

We both said I love you, and that in itself is huge. The fact he feels the same way.

It lights me up inside, and the way he gives me affection and treats me like I’m the most important person in the world is everything I never knew I wanted.

I’m nervous and excited about going forwards. I’m shocked by what we did over the Miami weekend, but I regret nothing. The fact I let him do things I’ve never done before, and I did things to him I’ve never done, was proof in itself that we are special together. I’ve never felt this comfortable before to open up and give him my all.

I can’t stop thinking about us having sex in the elevator. So much for discreet, but it isn’t like anyone could see us in there.

The sooner we address our relationship with the Hawks, the better.

Then we don’t have to hide anything anymore.

I have a drink with Andrea and Simon after work on Thursday. I went back to work on Tuesday and Andrea and I had a quick catch up in the staff break room when no one was around. I can’t say much at work anymore, and I’m still not revealing to anyone what went on in Miami, only to Susie.

“How was it hanging out with Peterson all weekend?” Simon waggles his eyebrows, bringing a round of cosmopolitans over to the table.

“It was good. You know, someone has to do it.”

“Yeah, the hardship you had to endure!” Andrea chuckles. “Half your luck.”

I laugh, taking a sip of my drink. It’s been a short week back at work, but I’m still exhausted from the trip and Tyler has been around this week keeping me awake until all hours. “He’s very sweet all in all. I know you wouldn’t think that to look at.”

“He looks pretty fine to me,” Simon chuckles.

“What are you guys going to do?” Andrea asks.

“Wait up, we still don’t know the Miami deets!” Simone protests. “Or are you not going to kiss and tell, Cinds?”
