“You know, my lips are sealed until we talk to my dad,” I sigh. “I shouldn’t even be telling you guys I’ve been going against company policy for weeks.”

“We won’t say anything. But it will be good when you guys can make it official,” Andrea says.

“Then maybe you’ll dish the dirt?” Simon waggles his eyebrows again and we all laugh.

“I can tell you one thing,” I say, as they both lean in a little closer, like anyone is going to hear us, anyway.

“Do tell!” Andrea encourages, tucking a curl behind her ear.

“Tell us he’s packing where it counts, Cinds!”

I can’t help but blush in the dim light of the bar. It’s still not something I’m used to talking to anyone about, even friends. It’s just something I’ve never done.

“He is more than packing where it counts. And when he goes to town, he does not stay in the lines.”

“Oh fucking hell.” Andrea slaps a hand over her mouth.

Simon’s eyes bug wide. “That is the most fabulous thing I’ve ever heard!”

“More than you and Jose?” I give him a little nudge. He told us they’ve seen each other again and things are going well. He’s going to his gallery next weekend for an event.

“Maybe a little more than me and Jose. We’re just taking baby steps,” he says.

I sigh at that notion. Yes, up until last weekend, that’s what I thought I was doing, too. My how the tables turn.

“At least you got some footage of the team, and make it at least seem like you were working.” Andrea shrugs.

I laugh. “I admit it was pretty convenient. I did get some great footage and a lot of photo ops with the kids afterwards. All in the name of PR.”

“Way to go.” Simon winks.

“And he wants me to meet his folks if I can get some time off.”

“That’s so sweet he wants you to meet the family already,” Andrea says.

“I just hope they like me.”

Simon nearly chokes on his drink. “Who wouldn’t like you!”

“I second that,” Andrea adds.

“You two are biased, but thank you all the same.”

“What do you think your parents are going to say?” Andrea asks.

They know my relationship with my mom isn’t the best. We still haven’t spoken since that launch date, and I know I need to call her. She will need to know my status with Tyler as well.

That’s going to be fun.

“I have no idea about my dad,” I sigh. “But my mom, I think it’s a given she’s not going to like it.”

“Would she approve of anyone?” Andrea snorts.

“Nope. Especially not someone like Tyler. She will just assume the devil has corrupted him because of his tattoos and his antics on and off the ice.”

“And because he doesn’t go to church?” Simon offers for good measure.

“That too,” I agree.
