With every outfit that makes its debut, it feels more and more real. This is actually happening. All the late nights sketching, choosing fabrics, sewing prototypes. All leading up to this.

Of course, I didn’t do it alone. Mary and Lil have been my rocks, supporting me every step of the way. And Elijah... I couldn’t have made it this far without him. He believed in me even when I doubted myself. His faith gave me the courage to pursue my dreams.

As the final model walks the catwalk in a stunning corset dress, I feel tears prick my eyes. The applause and cheers are deafening. I did it. My designs are out there now for the whole world to see.

I step out onto the runway, my heart bursting with joy as the crowd erupts into thunderous applause. This is the moment I’ve been waiting for. The moment that makes all the late nights and early mornings worth it. As I wave to the cheering audience, I’m overwhelmed with emotion. We did it. Each stunning piece sauntering down the catwalk brings my vision to life.

The models usher me forward, and I bow to a standing ovation, blinking back happy tears. This feels surreal, like a dream I don’t want to wake from. But then I see Elijah’s face filled with pride. This is real. I’ve achieved my dream.

Backstage is a flurry of congratulations and champagne toasts. Mary and Lil wrap me in a group hug, squealing their delight. Even Sebastian pulls me in for a quick squeeze.

Elijah waits for me with open arms, and I rush into his warm embrace.

He gives me a deep, passionate kiss.

“You were magnificent,” he says. “I’m so proud of you, my gem.”

We head to the after-party, where guests continue singing my praises. The editor of a renowned fashion magazine even stops to tell me she loved the collection. Elijah’s hand rests possessively on my lower back as we mingle, his touch igniting sparks along my skin. I’ve never felt more alive, more myself.

After some hours, the party finally winds down, and I’m exhausted. My feet ache from hours in those strappy heels, but it was worth it for this incredible night. As Elijah and I head out to his car, I lean against him, still riding the high of my successful runway debut.

“Ready to head home, my gem?” Elijah nuzzles my hair. I sigh. Home. Our home, now that I have officially moved in with him last week.

“Absolutely. I want to put my feet up and relax.”

The drive back to our home is quick, and soon, we’re walking through the front door of the apartment. I head straight for the master bathroom, eager to scrub off my makeup and change into something comfy.

Wearing one of Elijah’s shirts, my favorite pajamas, I pad barefoot into the living room. Elijah stands by the floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the glittering city. Soft jazz music fills the room.

He turns when I enter, his eyes sweeping over me, and he takes my hand, pulling me close against him as we begin to sway to the soft music.

“Have I told you how stunning you looked tonight?” His voice is low and rough.

“Only about a hundred times.”

“Well, let me make it a hundred and one.” Elijah brushes his lips over mine. “You took my breath away up on that stage.”

My heart flutters at his words, and I slide my arms around his neck. “I’m so glad you were there. I don’t think I could’ve done it without you.”

Elijah kisses me deeply, his hands trailing down my back to grip my hips. I melt against him with a soft moan. We stay locked in the kiss for long moments before he pulls back enough to meet my gaze.

“We make one hell of a team, don’t we?”

“The very best.” I smile up at him.

His hands trail down to grip my backside. “Now, I believe some celebration is in order for my amazing woman and her sexy-as-hell lingerie line.”

I tilt my head, letting my hair fall to one side to expose my neck. “Oh? And what did you have in mind?”

“I think you know exactly what I have in mind, Mrs. Milton.”

“Well, it’s still Ms. Barron for now.”

“Mm, that’s easily remedied. Just say the word, and I’ll whisk you off to Vegas tonight. We could be married by morning.”

“Oh yeah?” I quirk an eyebrow. “And what makes you so sure I’d say yes?”

“You already wear my ring. There are no takebacks.”
