“What the fuck? Tomorrow morning? Why are we waiting? We need to get her back now.” I’m livid. Standing, I pace the room. I can feel the pressure mounting behind my eyes, this is not the time for a headache. I need to calm down a little.

Razor ignores my tantrum. “There’s some bad weather heading in that direction, so we want to get over the mountain before the worst of the weather hits.”

“Bad weather? That is not going to stop us, Prez.”

“Look, I get it. You, Cash and Knuckles want to get to her as soon as possible, I get it, I really do. But we can’t just go racing off without a plan, not when we’ll be so far away from home. We need to do this right.”

We spend the next twenty minutes talking about the plan to get Meg back. I’m not really listening but I’m staring at Cash. He nods his head and I know that he is on board. We’re leaving after Church, and we are going on our own. I know we will get some hassle with the club when we come back, but we are not coming back without her.

Church ends. “Right, everyone get your stuff together. Shadow, I want you to get the guns. Pops, get the gear ready, including night vision glasses just in case we need them. Brax, you get Ghost to have the drone ready and make sure you know how to use it.”

We all leave and Cash and I go to my room. “Right, we’re going after her now, yeah?” I know his answer, but I need him to spell it out.

“Hell, yeah, we are not leaving her there another day.”

“Great, just checking we’re thinking the same thing.”

We grab a bag each with our clothes in, opening the bottom drawer of my dresser I reach in and grab a couple of guns and grenades, you can never be too careful in this line of work.

Then we leave. We go down the back stairs so that we don’t bump into anyone. As soon as they see our bags, they’ll know what we are doing.

We jump in a truck and head out of the compound, no one sees us or stops us. The prospect at the gate just nods his head and gets back to his phone. It’s the first time I’m happy that he’s not doing a great job of manning the gate.

We drive away from the compound and onto the highway. “You got the directions, Cash?”

“Yeah. I’ll tell you when to pull off. What’s the plan, Rams?”

“We drive over those fucking mountains and keep going until we get to the town beside them. I think we need to find somewhere to stay because the weather is going to turn bad, and we’ll need to make sure when we grab her that she has somewhere warm to go. Get on the phone and find somewhere for us to stay. That way it’s sorted when we get there.”

“On it.” I see him go into google on his phone and look for hotels. He finds one and rings them to book it for us. “Sorted.”

We drive in silence for a while. “Do you remember when we first saw Meg?”

I smile. “Yeah, Knuckles was introducing her and telling us all to stay away from her. I knew that I wanted her right then.”

“Yeah, me too.” Cash smiles. “She’s perfect for the both of us.”

“She really is. You know they’ve probably hurt her, right?”

Cash’s face turns red. “Yeah, Ricky is too much of an asshole not to have beaten her. We just have to make sure we look after her and help her get better.”

“What if..? What if they’ve abused her?” I hate saying it. I don’t want to think about it, but we need to.

“Then whoever has done that to her will lose his dick before he loses his life. No one touches what’s ours, Rams.”

“No, they don’t. Fuck I hope she’s okay. I hate to think about what she is going through and what that fucktard, Ricky, has done to her.”

As we get closer to the mountains that we know we have to cross, the snow has settled and is coming down harder. It’s difficult to see out of the window with the full beams on and the snow drifting into our faces. It’s hypnotic and I know that I need to make sure Cash is okay driving.

“We’ll get there, and we won’t leave until we’ve got her Cash. She’s ours and no one is taking her from us.”

“Too fucking right, Brother.”

Chapter 4

Meghan

I think two days have passed since the last time I heard someone leave the house. Just as I’m waking, I hear the stomp of boots and the front door bang. Then I hear the two trucks that I’ve heard coming and going leave the drive. This might be my only chance. I can hear someone whistling and walking around and I know it’s Ricky. He always had this annoying whistle.
