CHAPTER 29
RILEY
Days went by without any issues. By unspoken agreement, Becks and I didn’t talk about that night or Mr. Chase at all. At that point, it was in Wes’s hands. There was nothing I could do about it, so there was no point rehashing it to death. It wasn’t doing any of us any good.
We both worked a lot, saved as much money as we could, and spent every moment not working together. I mean, we already did that, but it felt different now. Whether we were making dinner, watching a movie, cuddling in bed, or doing something a little more couplely, it just had more meaning.
In the past, there had always been this sense of dread that eventually Becks would meet someone and no longer want his kid brother following him around like a lost, little puppy. Not that Becks had ever even brought someone home, but I’d still spent nights lying awake, worrying about it. I’d had literal nightmares of him telling me I had to move out because his partner was moving in.
Now, I wasn’t worried about none of that. Would there be a day when Becks would come to his senses and realize this wasn’t working? Maybe. But it didn’t feel like it. This felt real.
“Whatcha thinkin’ about so hard over there?” Becks asked as he slumped onto the couch next to me with the biggest bowl of cereal I’d ever fuckin’ seen.
“Just how real this feels. Permanent.”
He frowned. “That’s cause it is. You think I’m ever fuckin’ lettin’ you go now that I’ve allowed myself to realize I can have you? You’re outta your mind, butterfly.”
I grinned. “Well, I ain’t lettin’ you go either. I’ll tie you to the bed if I have to.”
He grinned, wiggling his eyebrows. “Kinky.”
I stuck my tongue out at him like the mature, grown man I was. “You wish.”
Becks just shrugged and shoved a huge mouthful of cereal between his lips.
“Want some?” He held the spoon out to me, and even as I rolled my eyes, I accepted the bite, attempting to make it look as sexy as I could.
By the way Becks couldn’t hold back his laugh, I was pretty sure I was failing.
“Shut up,” I mumbled, sulking as I chewed. Then suddenly, I was on my back and was dragged into Beck’s lap. He pinched my lips together so all I could do was glare at him. He better be careful, otherwise I was gonna bite his finger.
“You’re fuckin’ adorable and sexy and the best thing to ever happen to me.”
Damn. That was one way to keep from getting your finger bit off. I melted into the couch as Becks let go of my lips and then kissed me.
My fingers curled into his hair and I pulled him closer to me. I kissed him back, not about to have him do all the work.
I sucked on his neck when he pulled back so we could breathe. “Need you naked,” I mumbled into his neck.
Becks was pushed the coffee table back, the still mostly full bowl of cereal sloshed dangerously along the way. He climbed to his feet, but before I could complain, he was yanking off his clothes. I got the memo and scrambled to get naked in seconds.
Before Becks could get back on the couch, I stood up and crashed into him, our hands and lips everywhere.
“Fuckin’ A, butterfly. Look at what you do to me.” Becks rubbed his cock along my stomach. He wasn’t all the way hard yet, but he was close. I rutted up against him so he could feel me the same way.
I scratched my fingers down Becks’s back, loving the way he shivered at the sensation. “I wanna mark you everywhere,” I whispered. “I want there to be no question you’re mine.”
Becks cupped my face, kissing me possessively. “There’s no fuckin’ question, Ri. I’m yours and you’re fuckin’ mine.”
I made an agreeable sound into his mouth.
“Yours, baby.”
Becks moaned in pleasure as I dragged my dick along his. It gave me an idea. I pushed him onto the couch and quickly pecked his lips.
“Don’t move.” I sprinted into the bedroom as Becks called out for me.
The lube was still sitting out on the table next to our bed, and I was glad. Made it quicker. Even still, Becks was half sitting up like he was gonna come after me when I ran back, out of breath but grinning like a fool at him.
