I laugh, “That is not very much material.”
She sighs in disgust, “You’re going to be naked anyway.”
“No!” I shake my head at her, “We are meeting to discuss expectations, and to see if there’s a physical attraction.”
Mia comes over excitedly, “Don’t sign a contract. I read this BDSM book, and he made her practically sign her life away.” With a shocked expression, she adds, “If she agreed in the contract, it was binding, she couldn’t say no. Don’t do that.”
I laugh, “That was a book, Mia. Fiction. I don’t think that would even be legally binding. It’s not real life, but I’m not signing a contract. We’ve already discussed that. We’ll use safe words and such. Honestly though, we’re just talking tonight.”
Giada gives me a pouty look, “I was hoping for some juicy details. I want to hear about all the spanking, the tying up, all the kinky stuff.”
I roll my eyes at her, “Read a book.”
She pouts again, “I know. It’s better when it’s real life.”
I grab a dress that I think is perfect, low-cut, short, but not slutty, and it’s blue, so it’ll match my eyes.
Damian always liked that; I think to myself before shoving him out of my mind. We’re moving on, Katherina. Stop thinking about him.
After getting approval from the girls, I go to the counter and pay for my purchase. Three hundred dollars later we leave the store to get lunch. I clearly remember having under five dollars in my bank account when I met Damian. I’m doing much better now, financially. I have a good job with benefits. I’m not wealthy but I am able to pay my bills and have money left over. The best part is I’m not like my mother, depending on a man for everything.
We sit, waiting for our food, as Mia tells us about this horror book she read.
To me, it sounds disgusting, but she can’t stop raving about it. Something about peeling someone’s skin from their bones doesn’t do it for me. However, she kills people frequently. Sure, most of the guys she kills as an assassin are bad guys but still.
I can’t imagine that being my life. Yes, I killed three men when I had to in order to save Damian as well as myself, but I wouldn’t go looking for it like she does.
Her, Max, Trevor, Jade, Hunter, and Nash, literally hunt for these men. From what I understand, they only go after traffickers now, although that wasn’t the case when Max started.
I shake my head at her as I shiver from her description, “Nope. Not reading that. I like the smut, but horror? Nope.”
She laughs, “Fine.”
After dining on a chicken salad, I announce that I’m done. I chose not to eat heavy because I don’t want to be bloated tonight. First impressions are important. This is almost like a job interview. At the end of the night, we’ll both decide if we want to pursue this.
We pay our bills and part ways. Of course, they all told me good luck and that they are expecting details in our Facebook group chat. We’ll see.
I’m dressed for my date an hour early but suddenly have second thoughts. Is this a bad idea? Yes, it’s probably a bad idea. As if he can sense my thoughts Matthew sends me a message.
You’re not going to back out, are you?
I was thinking about it.
It’s just dinner.
I told you. It’s been a while.
I’m nervous. I’ll be there.
Pinky swear.
I laugh out loud before responding.
You can’t pinky swear unless both
pinkies are present.
Sorry, I forgot the rules after kindergarten.
