“I was going to look for you,” I uttered, trying to pull my eyes from his. I felt trapped, yet I couldn’t look away. He smelled of peppermint and honey. His touch was gentle but firm. My eyes toured down his strong cheekbones to his slightly parted lips. They appeared soft and supple, inviting.

Suddenly, I had to fight the urge to kiss him. My body was reacting to the chemistry developing between us. We were planets from different dimensions on a collision course. Leaning my head back against the door, I closed my eyes for a second.

I had to get a grip on the emotions surging through my body. What was happening? This man was powerful, handsome, and so wrong for me. I didn’t fit into this world, I couldn’t be a showpiece, I was from another class.

It could never work, I assured myself, opening my eyes again. His stare made me uncomfortable, but his silence was worse. I wondered what he was thinking and felt fear creeping in. What was he going to do?

“You found what you were looking for?” he asked, leaning in. His voice was low and sounded deeper than before. His hot breath softly touching my cheek caused a tumbling in my stomach. I had to get a grip on my emotions, but I had nowhere to go. I struggled a bit but stopped as the movement only caused my senses to absorb more of him.

My body jolted as feelings of excitement and danger crawled up my back. I was suddenly hot as adrenaline ran rampage through my senses.

“Well,” I started saying. Pulling my eyes away and staring over his shoulder, I swallowed hard. “It wasn’t like you gave me another option. You didn’t tell me you are part of the Morozov family.”

Regaining some of my composure, I glanced back at him. I could only hope that my look was filled with resolve and didn’t show the sudden onset of lust I felt surging through me. “I have a right to know who I am marrying, don’t I?”

He didn’t say a word. He smiled and nodded. I had to get a hold on myself. He was so wrong for me and these feelings although new, weren’t what I expected. I didn’t know if it was due to the danger he portrayed or the need for a man but I couldn’t trust my body or mind at the moment.

Chapter 6 - Ashan

Pressed up against her, I felt a surge of power run through me. I had never met anyone who made me think about certain things in life, and I didn’t know why she did, but she did. Her presence filled me with a drive I had not felt in years. My mind kept telling me to slow down but my body wanted her more than the air I breathed.

Watching her work with so much restless sort of energy only made me want to learn more about her. I needed to keep her close; I had to protect her and what she had. Not only the information I was sure the family would want, but also her talent, drive, and energy.

Jamie was competent and resourceful. Noting her strong will, my mind ran in a different direction. I wonder if she did everything in life with the same kind of energy. If so, I imagined sex with her would be phenomenal. This thought invaded my mind like an unexpected rocket.

Leaning closer, I lowered my tone as I spoke. “You are something else.”

If I seduced her, I was sure to unlock the tigress she held inside. Judging from the clothing she came in with, I felt sure she did not have many suitors. I could teach her so much in life and in bed, of this, I was sure.

Feeling certain of myself, I studied her face as she battled to look away over my shoulder before replying. Her skin felt like velvet where I held her. She smelled of wildflowers and oak, prickling my senses.

“I don’t see what difference my last name makes,” I whispered as I pressed harder against her. This allowed my one hand freedom from holding her pinned. With my free hand, I made soft lines down her arm with my fingertip.

She breathed in sharply as I placed a tender kiss on her neck. Holding her wrists, I pulled her arms further up over her head and pinned them solidly to the door. Jamie shivered against me. I gently pushed my foot between her legs. As I moved my knee left and right, opening her legs, her breathing became uneven.

She tensed as I pressed harder up against her. Moving my hand from her shoulder down, my fingers filled with heat as I moved in between and then over her firm breast. An intense desire started pushing up in me, but I have always had exceptional control and wasn’t worried.

Moving further down, I grabbed her butt with force. Jamie trembled slightly. Her breathing turned quick and hot. I fully intended to seduce her, but I felt my control slivering away as she filled my ear with soft breaths. Taking back control, I had to step away.

I walked over to the desk and shook off the bubbling emotions that were making their way up. Turning off the computer, I glanced at her as I spoke. “At least put on the dress I hung in the bathroom for you, if you don’t mind.”

Jamie quietly retired to the bathroom and closed the door. Straightening, I shook out my arms. Closing my eyes, I tried to clear my mind. The goal was to seduce her, not the other way around. I had to get a grip on my emotions, or my plans with her might fail like my deal did. Thinking about the deal was all I needed to clear the cobwebs forming in my mind.

A knock at the door brought me from my thoughts. Opening it, I invited the officiator in. “Welcome, and thanks for coming so quickly,” I said, walking to the bathroom door. I knocked and called out to her. “Jamie, it’s time.”

“Coming,” she replied through the closed door.

I hoped that the dress I had brought up would fit her. On such short notice, it was the only thing I could find in the dancer’s fitting room that seemed appropriate. It wasn’t a wedding gown, but it was as close as I could get, and I hoped she liked it.

Walking back to the officiate, I heard the door opening behind me. Standing in front of him, I turned and looked back at her.

Jamie came out of the bathroom wearing the pearl evening gown. She lit up the room as she moved. The dress was a perfect fit, better than perfect. Her perky breasts were pushed up in the tight V running down between them, covered in lace. The skirt hugged her curves just enough, making them clearly visible. She was slim but curvy in all the right places.

I swallowed hard as she looked like she was gliding towards us. Sweat broke out on the back of my neck, and it felt as if my tie was trying to strangle me. She was a vision to behold. I was wrong earlier when I thought she looked perfect in the jeans and white top. This dress made her look like an exquisite gem. I couldn’t help but notice the grin forming as she came to stand beside me.

My hands were sweaty, and my mouth kept filling with spit as I admired her. I didn’t know that any woman could be so desirable. I have never encountered one that made all my senses light up, and she did. It was new to me, and I tried to not show the impact she had on me. Clearing my throat, I nodded to the officiate to proceed. I dared not speak as I was sure my voice would betray me.

The ceremony went quickly, as I had arranged beforehand. We only needed the most important aspects covered. After the final ‘I do’s,’ we exchanged plain wedding bands, which I had one of the guards get for me.
