She’s absolutely stunning with the backdrop of the sea and the sun setting behind her.

Taking my eyes off of her only long enough to finish making the drink order, I hand it over to the customer before looking towards the beach once again but I don’t see her at first.

I’m just about to give up when I notice she had walked a little ways down the beach but is now headed right this way.

I can’t stop the grin that crosses my face at the thought that I can see her up close. Not many women are able to capture my attention like she has. Especially one I have seen from far off.

Maybe when she gets up here, I’ll see that she’s way too old for me. Maybe she’s married with nine kids. That last thought has me chuckling to myself.

“Cute dimples.” I hear and I swing my eyes to the face of the voice.

She’s a cute little thing, I give her that but she’s not my type.

“What can I get you?” I purposely ignore the comment about my dimples.

Out of the corner of my eye, I see my vision getting closer to my spot at the bar. My heart rate kicks up as she gets closer.

“Your number would be great.” The girl at the bar says with a giggle.

Looking over her shoulder I finally see the face of the woman I was watching on the beach.

She’s classically beautiful with dark curly hair she has piled on top of her head. She’s not wearing any makeup that I can see under those dark sunglasses that are perched on a cute freckled nose.

“I’m taken.” I say as the beauty’s eyes collide with mine. The girl that asked for my number, turns sharply towards the newcomer who now has a knowing smirk on her face.

“Did you have a good walk, beautiful?” I ask with a grin. If my familiarity surprises her, she doesn't show it. Instead she immediately plays along with my ruse.

“Yes, I did. Make me a drink?” She asks, grinning back.

“What would you like?”

“You already know what my favorite is.” Her lips turn up even more.

Without missing a beat, I start mixing a drink and set it in front of her as soon as it’s ready. She picks it up and takes a slow sip.

“Hmm. Apple Martini is definitely my favorite.”

We stand there staring at each other and only look away when someone clears their throat. Looking at the offender, I see the girl still standing there.

“Did you want a drink?” I ask again.

“Two beers.” She demands, rolling her eyes.

Quickly grabbing the beers, I open them then hand them to her, collecting her money automatically. She doesn’t stick a tip in the jar. I don’t really care though.

Looking back at the beauty who is still standing there slowly drinking her Martini, I feel like an utter fool just standing there with a smile on my face.

I can’t help it though. Something has a hold of me and I’ve no idea what the fuck it is. All I do know is, I want to stare at this woman for the rest of the night.

“I don’t think she liked that you didn’t pay her the attention she wanted.” I almost giggle as I watch the young lady stomp over to her friend.

“She’ll survive. Besides, I’m fairly certain in only a few minutes, she’ll have someone else set in her sights.” He grins, nodding to where the girl is now tossing her hair over her shoulder and smiling at yet another man.

“That kind of thing must happen to you a lot.” I raise my glass to my lips.

“Women seem to think the bartender is fair game.” He shrugs. “I get it though. All the movies make it seem like we are all that way.”
