“Does, I’m alive work better for you?” I ask with a serious tone.

“I swear one of these days I’m going to beat you. Where are you by the way and how the hell did you get away? Did they hurt you?” She demands all at once.

It takes nearly an hour to tell her the whole story and to calm her down. She asks if I want them to come pick me up but I put her off, saying that I’ll come by the condo tomorrow. For now, I feel safer being under Rome’s roof.

Rome

Piper has been at my house for a whole week now. Her friends tried to get her to go back home with them but she refused to do so. My Aunt told me that she believes it’s because Piper associates safety with being with me.

I don’t really mind that. That first night, I waited until she was asleep before I went in and laid down next to her, finally sleeping after being up for forty eight hours.

When I woke up the next morning, she was laying in my arms staring into my face with a grin.

I took some time off from work so that I could stay at home with her. We spent the first few days getting to know my brothers, my Aunt and my Uncle.

I can’t believe that I was so afraid to reach out to them but I now know that I let my mother’s fear of my father influence me.

None of them talk about my father. I get the impression that there was no love lost between them.

They all have gone back home now and I’ve promised them all that I’ll visit later in the summer. My Aunt has texted every day since she left to check on not only me but Piper as well.

Walking into the house, I can hear Piper moving around in the kitchen so I walk in expecting to see her cooking something but instead I see her feeding Mocha treats as she does several commands.

“Spoiling my dog I see.” I laugh, walking further into the room.

“By the time you’re ready to be rid of me, she’ll be my dog.” Piper laughs back.

“I don’t plan to ever be rid of you though.” I say softly, drawing her eyes to mine.

I walk slowly towards her, holding her gaze. “I want to keep you forever. Can I?”

“Why would you want to keep me?” She asks.

“Because I’m pretty sure that I’m falling head over heels for you and from what my family tells me, it doesn’t take long for a Marcus to know who they want for the rest of their lives.” I stop right in front of her, looking down into her face.

“Where would we live?” She asks with a raised brow of her own.

“Here.” I shrug. “Hawaii. Alaska. Wherever we want really but I’m leaning more towards Hawaii.”

“Hawaii? Why there?” She asks curiously.

“I may have found the perfect spot to open my own bar.” I grin., watching her lips.

I’ve not touched her since rescuing her from that truck although I’m certain she’s tried to get my attention in that way. She’s not exactly been subtle with coming to bed in a see through nightie last night. Now though, I’m thinking I can’t hold myself back any further.

She’s told me over and over that she’s fine although I’ve still insisted she go to a therapist in case there’s any lingering issues that may be there subconsciously.

“Are you done staring yet?” She asks with a grin.

“I’ll never be done staring.” I answer, pulling her into my arms and picking her up.

“What are you doing?” She demands, wrapping her arms around my neck.

“I’m taking you to our bed and I’m going to make you cum on my tongue several times before I bury my cock completely into you until we both have an orgasm together. That okay with you?” I ask, walking towards the bedroom.

“Finally.” She breathes out pulling my lips to hers for a deep kiss. “Oh, and I’m pretty sure I’m falling for you too. Now please, take me to our bed.” She says, putting a lot of emphasis on our.

With a grin, I run down the hall to our room with her in my arms laughing. I’ll never get enough of this woman.
