“Ours?” I tease her. My heart flip flops in my chest at her nod, and I swear I may turn into a puddle of happiness.
“Yes,” Wren says, continuing to stare at the photo. “Thank you for this. They… were one of the worst things about my time with Trey. They broke things I didn’t think they could. He didn’t share me with his business partners often, but he would if he thought it would help him get what he wanted. Craig and his pack got off on the pain. I’m glad they’re dead.”
“Me too,” Flynn murmurs. I watch as she relaxes a bit, and I am pretty sure that’s because of our omega sending her soothing energy. A part of me is jealous that I don’t share this bond with her yet, but it’ll happen when it’s time.
The ball is completely in her court.
“I’m glad you enjoyed your courting present,” Amb says with a smile. “I for one need a shower and then some food. If we don’t have a winner for dinner, what do we want to eat?”
“I kind of want pancakes,” Flynn says, blushing. “How does breakfast for dinner sound?”
“I don’t think I’ve ever had breakfast for dinner,” Wren says with a shrug.
I’ve had to train myself not to make a face or a sound when she says things like this. It’s hard for me to think about everything she’s missed out on while being a captive omega.
“Well, now is as good a time as any,” I tease her. My happiness at how happy she is with her gift is tempered with my need to kill everyone who has ever hurt her.
Wren stands with an innocent smile, rushing over to give me a hug. I’m so taken by surprise by it, she rocks me slightly on my feet.
“You’re going to spoil me,” she says with a giggle.
“You deserve to be spoiled, Lemon Drop,” I murmur.
“Where are you going now?” she asks as I ease back and Ambrose steals her away for a hug.
“I need a shower,” I tell her. “It’s been a long day, and it’ll help me unwind.”
“Can I come with you, Alpha?” she asks, peering up at me from her eyelashes.
My jaw drops while Flynn and Shaw attempt to hide their smiles from me behind their fists. Did she… What is happening?
I think she broke me.
“Ah… yeah. I’d love for you to come with me,” I say dumbly, ignoring Amb’s snort of laughter as he kisses Wren’s cheek.
Walking toward me, she effortlessly slides her hand in mine as we walk. Wren is wearing an off the shoulder sweater, panties, and nothing else.
“What are you up to, Lemon Drop?” I ask her as we walk out of the living room.
“I want to spend some time with you, is all. I also want to show you how much I love my gift,” she purrs.
The scent of her perfume makes me groan, and I remember something.
“It was Amb’s idea to present it to you as a gift,” I tell her, sure she’ll take back her offer. Wren’s hair shines as the filtered sunlight from the windows hits it, making her look as if she had a halo.
“Ambrose!” Wren calls sweetly looking over her shoulder.
Amb practically falls over his boots as he runs to catch up with us, and I can hear Shaw and Flynn snickering. We have absolutely no game. I’d be embarrassed if it wasn’t for the little omega who looks so happy beside me.
“Want to join us?” Wren asks.
“You know we didn’t do this for perks, right honey?” he growls as he stalks forward.
Showing no fear to my surprise, despite seeing what we’re capable of, she lets go of my hand and leaps into Amb’s arms. The startled alpha catches her, and Wren wraps herself around him like a spider monkey. Amb has handfuls of her ass that he squeezes as he drops his head to kiss her lips, and Wren perfumes as she whimpers into his mouth while she kisses him back.
“I know,” she purrs softly. “I want to do this.”
Ambrose’s legs eat up the ground as he starts up the stairs, and I hurry to catch up.
