Page 127 of Knot My Sin

Trey has no idea the shit storm he’s about to bring down on himself. Taking a breath, I check the bond, frowning when I still can’t feel either of them. If they’re traveling by helicopter the way we think they are, then this would make sense.

“Trey probably drugged them both,” Ambrose says, voice strained as he dries his hands. “It would explain why I can’t feel Flynn. Distance affects it too.”

“Ready?” Shaw barks, not bothering to clean up. Blowing out a breath, I nod as I grab a towel and quickly dry my hands.

“Let’s do it,” I say, tossing the terry cloth to the side and leaving the bathroom. Amb is practically on my heels as we exit the room with Shaw.

“Weapons and to the car,” Shaw rumbles. Words are hard outside of commands when so much of our world has been ripped away from us in such a short amount of time.

“Wait,” Jasper yells, jogging to catch up to us. There’s a makeshift black bandage along the back of his head, and his balance is a lot better than it was earlier. “You’re going to need help.”

“Are you asking or telling me?” Shaw asks, glaring at the butler to get out of his way as he stalks into the weapons check closet.

Handing out weapons, Shaw ignores him as Jas shifts on his feet. It probably wasn’t his fault that our omegas were taken, but because he was guarding them, it’s hard not to lay blame at his feet.

“I owe Flynn and Wren for tonight,” Jasper admits. “I need to help.”

“Fine,” Ambrose says, surprising me. “Everyone deserves a second chance, just don’t fuck this one up.”

With that shining nugget of wisdom, he turns his back on us all to load up on weapons. Jasper nods, grabbing the misplaced firearms that were taken from his person earlier, and then we’re on our way.

“Boys!” Corbin yells as Shaw opens the front door to leave.

Turning over his shoulder to glance at him, Shaw stares at him for a moment. Communicating without words, Corbin nods after a moment.

“The tides are shifting, and I understand your allegiance needs to also be with your omegas. We’ll need to talk soon, but that can wait. Bring them back safely,” he says softly.

Nodding, we walk out the door and don’t look back, our SUV already being pulled up for us.

This godforsaken night is teaching me a lot, most of all that we’re never leaving the fucking house with our mates again.

FLYNN

The world is hazy, and at one point it feels as if I’m flying. Is that possible? Groaning, I finally feel as if I’m traveling up through sludge. I vaguely remember a man hurting Wren and I, and I need to wake up.

My omega needs me. Whimpering, I finally take a breath and force my eyes open, even as the light around me hurts them. I’m laying on a gray carpeted floor of some kind of frilly pink girl’s room. It’s creepy how much this room reminds me of a young person’s bedroom.

Where the fuck are we?

Breathing hard, I try to move, but can’t because my arms are tightly bound behind me. Even then, I feel sluggish and slow from whatever it was that he injected me with. Forcing myself to move my head, I see Wren a short distance away, unmoving.

“Wren,” I hiss, remembering the taser the man hit her with. “Baby, please.”

Her arms are unbound and I see her fingers twitch, but she’s still knocked out. The click of a door unlocking to my right sounds, and I’m torn between pretending to still be knocked out or not. Fuck, if he’s an alpha he’ll be able to tell, so I decide not to perpetuate the charade.

The door opens dramatically, slamming into the wall.

“Wren! Rise and shine, sleepy head!” the alpha yells with a flourish, making her gasp as she jerks awake.

Things are pointing toward this man being the alpha who bought her as a child, and if that’s the case, we are very fucked. I just don’t understand why he’s going through all of this trouble.

“I leave you alone for a little over a month and you become a woman,” Trey snarls, stalking across the room to tangle his fingers in Wren’s curls.

Yanking her head back, his lips smirk at her cry of pain as she blinks up at him.

“Trey,” she whispers, chest beginning to heave in panic. “Why wouldn’t you just leave me alone? You sold me.”

Backhanding her, Trey ignores my yell of anger as I struggle to my knees. The room spins, making me feel nauseous. My bonds are completely quiet, almost as if they’ve disappeared, but Wren I can hear fine. Deciding it’s the distance, I force myself to keep a level head in front of my omega’s biggest nightmare.
