“Just one of my super swimmers was all that was needed.”

“Stanton, if you don’t shut the fuck up, I’ll…”

“Oh. Your father is on his way back to the table. Would you like me to make a scene?”

“I’m going to fucking kill you.”

“No, you’re not. You’re going to ask me nicely to take care of our omega while you persuade your father that everything is lovely with your date, and I’ll look after Grace.” Stanton grins. “Maybe the three of us could use that yacht to get to know each other better.”

“Stanton...” I hiss through gritted teeth.

“Leave it to me, Lucas. You lost her and now I’m going to be the one who brings her to us, but you have to agree we’re a pack first.”

“Excuse me,” she says as her deep brown eyes lock on mine. The air feels like it is slowly deflating from my lungs like a balloon as I look at her.

She’s gorgeous. Her hair is no longer red, now the pink hue is beautiful against her deep brown eyes.

“We need to talk,” I tell her. I can’t believe she is pregnant with my child.

Fuck, I’m going to be a father.

“Your date is looking for you,” Stanton says.

I glare at him and release a low growl, which makes her squeak, just like the omega she is.

I turn back to Grace. “We need to talk.”

“Not tonight.” She glances past me and to where Raine is sitting. “We’ll talk another time. It’ll need to be when neither of us is with a date.”

“She’s...”

“Your fiancé,” she finishes.

Chapter 20

Stanton

“Do you know Lucas Hilton?” I ask Grace as she glances at him once again over the rim of her glass of water.

She turns to me, her heavy gaze meets mine, and I’m sure there’s a whisper of curiosity showing through.

“Yes, and no. It’s complicated.”

Any recognition of me disappeared in a flash, vanishing as quickly as it appeared.

She doesn’t remember me. Whatever I thought I saw before was now gone.

I hate the way her thoughts are purely on him, but at least I know she wants him.

All I have to do is make her want me, too.

“Did he hurt you?” I ask, pretending I don’t have a clue what’s going on.

“I never realized the reason he left me was because he had someone else,” she murmurs. “And now I don’t know what to do.”

“Because he’s the father of your baby?” Just saying it hits me like a sledgehammer to my heart.

“Unless it was an immaculate conception,” she says dryly.
