Page 79 of Knot Her Reality

Dropping the phone back into the waterproof pouch, I drop it into the tank and straighten it. Since the room is soundproofed, I know whoever is outside my door won’t have heard me, but I hurry before they try to bang down the door or something.

Throwing the door open, I’m surprised to find Natalie standing there. “Hey. What are you doing here?”

“I saw you head back here, and I know everyone was ignoring you again. I thought I’d see if you wanted to take a walk with me, get some fresh air.” She smiles up at me from beneath her eyelashes. She wants my dick, and she wants it bad. Honestly, she’s trying too damn hard. She might not be an omega, but she still has a cunt, and that’s all that really matters.

If only she wasn’t a deviant, I’d totally drag her into my bedroom and fuck the shit out of her. But she is and I’m so not going there. What she is, though, is another way to Evangeline, which I might need. It’s the only reason I nod, telling her, “I’d love to. Thanks. I was just getting sick of the way everyone was acting and needed to get away.”

“Well then, I’m glad I followed you.”

We head for the stairs, and I glance into the game room, finding her alpha’s eyes on me. I don’t know what makes me do it, but I smirk and place my hand on her lower back. His face pulls back in a snarl, and I can’t help winking at him before following her down the stairs. I probably shouldn’t provoke him, but it’s unlikely that he’ll follow me even after taunting him. After all, Bree made it perfectly clear what would happen if any of us get into any fights while on the show.

I end up following just behind Natalie so I can watch the way her jeans hug her ass. I might not be willing to fuck her, but that doesn’t mean I can’t appreciate her body. She’s petite and perfect—not an ounce of fat on her. Evangeline is built similarly but with more curves and she’s much taller. I’ve never been into tall women, so that’s another strike against the omega. The fact that she’s as tall as she is and still insists on wearing heels tells me all I need to know about her insecurities about men. She thinks her height will intimidate men, instead it just makes her less attractive.

Not like Natalie.

I wonder if she’s actually ever been with another woman. Just because she’s attracted to them doesn’t mean that she’s done anything. I think I could forgive that since it means there’s still a chance to get her to see that it’s deviant behavior. If that’s the case, then I could totally fuck her. Maybe I’ll see if I can work it into conversation once we’re outside.

Neither of us says anything as we make our way down to the first floor. Sometimes I wonder why they forced me and Dustin to have a room on the third floor since we were here before some of the people who ended up on the second floor. But whatever. That’s not something I really need to worry about right now.

We manage to avoid the others as Natalie leads us downstairs and outside. As soon as the door shuts behind us, I let out a sigh of relief, and the tension drains from my shoulders. I really hate being on this damned show and having to be on all the damn time. Not that I don’t need to be on with Natalie, but I feel much more comfortable with her since she’s the one who approached me.

“See, I knew that some fresh air would do you some good.” Natalie beams up at me before gesturing to one of the gazebos. “Do you want to walk or just sit and maybe talk?”

I consider her for a moment, wondering what she wants to talk about. “We can sit and talk. If we decide to, we can always walk afterward.”

“Good call.” She falls into step beside me as I lead us over to the closest gazebo. I offer her my hand as we walk up the stairs and settle onto the swing hanging from the center. I think about releasing her hand before deciding if she doesn’t want to hold my hand, then she’ll let go.

We rock in silence for a few minutes before I face her. “I still don’t understand why you keep seeking me out.”

“I told you I don’t like using other people’s opinions to form my own. I think you deserve a chance for me to get to know you.” She shrugs. “I thought we might have some things in common.”

I snort, doubting that we have anything in common. “Like what?”

“Fuck if I know,” she says with a giggle that brings a smile to my face. I know she’s a nurse, which means she’s not stupid, but I like the way she seems to be a bit of an airhead. I don’t like my woman completely devoid of intelligence—where’s the fun in that—but I prefer to be the smarter one in the relationship.

I hum, glancing toward the front gate where I know the protestors are, a smile stretching across my lips.

“What’s the smile for?”

Shaking my head, I focus on Natalie. I’m not sure she wants to hear the thoughts running through my head right now. “Nothing. I was just thinking about how nice it is out here. Especially since we can’t hear the protestors.”

“Ahhh, yes.” She shrugs. “They don’t really bother me.”

“No?” I clear my throat, frowning. “But they’re protesting bisexual women. Aren’t you a bisexual woman? It was definitely inferred that you did something with Evangeline.”

She scoffs, rolling her eyes. “Hardly. I’m here because my alpha wants an omega. I did what I did for his benefit, knowing he’d enjoy it. But I’m not into her. They just wouldn’t let us onto the show if I wasn’t bisexual since we’re a pack.”

I consider her for a moment. “Really? That’s… unexpected. And you’re okay with Evangeline being your omega since she is bisexual?”

“Honestly?” Natalie glances around us, and it takes me a moment to realize that she’s checking to see if there’s anyone around us. “No. I agree with the protestors.”

I don’t bother hiding my shock. While there are women within the CFA, they are few and far between. I wasn’t expecting to find a female beta on the show that agreed with our beliefs. “I’m not going to lie. That’s a little hard for me to believe.”

“Believe what you want,” she says with a shrug. “But the only way we’re going to get our world back on track is to build up the population, and that means that women need to be popping out kids. I would’ve already had one if Ronan hadn’t wanted to wait until our pack was complete. Something about being afraid that others wouldn’t accept our kid. It’s annoying, but he’s my alpha. He’s the one who makes those kinds of decisions.”

Huh. I definitely wasn’t expecting this to come out of her mouth—and so flippantly. I smirk as I release her hand, laying it on her thigh instead. “Believe it or not, I’m part of the CFA, also known as the Cis Femme Alliance. They’re the ones behind the protests. They’re the reason I’m here. There’s no way I’d accept a deviant bisexual omega as mine, but I’m supposed to do what I can to mess up the season.”

Her eyes go wide, her lips turning up at the corners. “So the kayak accident wasn’t such an accident, after all?”
