The closer we get to where we're going, the faster my heart races. Please God, don’t let me pass out in front of everyone.
Liam
Stepping off the elevator, Kyrian’s mouth goes slack. The fucker thought we were pranking him when we pulled up to what looks like an abandoned building. He’s in for a rude awakening when he fully sees what tonight will bring. I miss that youthful wonderment of new things. Sometimes I wish I could go back in time and relive them.
I pull my key card out and swipe it, the doors to the elevator sliding open, allowing us to step on. Only the party that belongs to the key can enter the elevator at one time.
After a short ride, we step off and I’m handed a sleek black tablet already programmed with the merchandise for the night. She’s pretty, dark hair, tan skin, large breasts, but nothing about her appeals to me. I’m anxious to see why Edward thought I’d appreciate one of the pieces of merchandise that’s up for auction tonight.
“Let’s get a drink before this starts.” I don’t wait for their response and head straight to the bar, nodding in acknowledgement to the other bidders. Looking around, I see we have a very diverse looking crowd tonight.
“I could use one or four,” Kyrian says boldly as he eyes the female staff, who are dressed in purple lingerie and black heels.
Killian slaps him on the chest, no doubt noticing the same thing. “Staff is off limits, so get your eyes back in their socket. We’re here strictly to bid in the auction if we find someone who we find appealing. That being the merchandise good old Eddie says will interest us. No one else. If we don’t figure out who it is, then we may or may not purchase something.”
“Fine,” he says, blowing Killian off.
“Get your dick in your pants, boy,” I growl softly, not wanting anyone else to hear. “This isn’t playtime with your friends or one of those apps to meet up and fuck some stranger. Do you understand?”
“Yes, Sir.” I give him a stern look before pushing past him. Killian’s muffled laughter follows.
I step in between two men in suits as I walk up to the bar and a bartender heads my way.
“What can I get you?”
“Three whiskeys, please.”
He turns around as I check my watch. It’s getting close to time for the auction to start.
“Could you let someone know we’re ready to be seated?” I ask the bartender when he brings my drinks, who nods his head at me before rushing off.
“Do we have any clue who this person is, Uncle Liam? Man, woman? Why Edward even thinks that we’d be interested?” Killian questions as he leans against the bar, taking a sip of his drink.
“No clue, and he’s not been forthcoming with the information. You know how he is, just as well as I do after all these years.”
A gentleman in purple boxers heads our way with a smile and stops in front of us.
“Good evening, Mr. Sartori. I’m Han, and I’ll be showing you to your table tonight. As always, the auction will begin at eight promptly. Once it starts, the lights will go down and you will not be able to leave your seats. Should you require the use of the bathroom, I suggest you do that now.”
“I’m good. Boys?”
“Nope, I’m good.” Kyrian answers as Killian shakes his head.
“We seem to be fine, Han.”
“Very well, sirs, follow me, please.”
He leads us into the same auction room I’ve been in many times. He heads down to the front and I smile when I see we have a table in a prime spot with a front-row view.
“Here you are.”
“Thank you,” I tell him as I take a seat, setting the tablet in front of me.
As we wait, others are escorted to their assigned tables for the night.
“So we just bid on this tablet if we see someone we like? Seems too easy. Not like in those old movies you see on television where you’re holding up a paddle in the air.”
I just shake my head at the kid. Sometimes I forget he’s so young. And holy hell, I’m about to be having sex with my nephews. For the longest time, it’s been me and Killian who actually bid. His father only came for appearance’s sake. Since we can bid on two people, we’ve never had to share, but tonight poses the first time one of us will have to.
