“They all deserve to go to hell!” I catch myself before saying it too loud, not wanting Sierra to hear me and get upset.
“They will. And the girl? Well, I’ve got something up my sleeve for her. The guys should be here by this afternoon. They’re meeting me at the club,” Rico tells me as he pulls his feet off the table and leans forward, setting his cup on the table.
“I’m coming with you. Fuck my test. I want to be there for Sierra,” I tell him boldly.
“No, the hell you’re not. You’re going to school. Everything stays as it should. There’s not going to be any reason to cast a look in our direction or scrutinize anything. I’m not having the detective question why you’re showing up with us.”
“Fine, but I don’t like it.” I stand up and make my way down the hallway to Sierra’s room. As much as I want to join her in the shower, now is not the time. I know how uncomfortable it would make her with Rico in the living room. Instead, I get dressed. I’ll take a quick shower back at my dorm.
Chapter 44
Sierra
Ifeel dirty. The detective asked question after question about the video. All of them I had no answer for because I couldn’t remember the night. The questions went on until Rico put an end to it, telling them his attorney would be in touch.
I was a mess walking out of the building and had no intentions of going to school. I just wanted to scream at the top of my lungs.
Why is all this happening to me? Haven’t I endured enough? They say God never gives you more than you can handle. Well, I think they’re wrong about that.
Rico wanted to drop me at home, but I knew the people he was meeting today would be at the club. And I wanted to be there too. This involves me, I deserve to know what’s going on.
I’m not being left in the dark about this. I want to know what’s happening,I deserve to know.
I’m sitting at the bar while he does inventory. He closed it down this afternoon, even told the staff not to come in, paying them all for it. They all think he’s being nice. Nope. He just doesn’t want anybody listening in on what’s going to be said.
“So when are the big bad people getting here?” I finally ask, spinning around on my chair to look up at the stage. It looks so different during the day with all the lights on and no one swinging around it half dressed with their titties hanging out.
“It will be any minute, but you, young lady, will wait in my office,” he orders, like he thinks that will really happen.
“Nuh-uh, no way in hell I’m not being present for it.”
The words have just left my mouth when the front doors open and a group of bikers enter with one woman. She’s fucking gorgeous, with dark hair and a body I wish I had.
“Ricochet, my man, long time no see!” one of the older men shouts as Rico moves from behind the counter and they bro hug, slapping each other on the back as they laugh loudly.
“I go by Rico now, Sam. And congrats on the new grandbaby.”
“Hey, what about congrats to the dad, Uncle Ricochet?” a handsome dark-haired man laughs as he asks. He bears a striking resemblance to the older man.
“Fucking hell, is this Ryker? Fuck boy, you were a pain in the ass, and now you’re a dad and married?” Rico hugs him and I just sit there awkwardly.
The woman steps up to me, smiling widely. “Well, since these boys are busy acting like women who haven’t seen each other in ages, I’m Arizona. My man is the burly, sour faced one over there, Bash. When I heard he was coming and what it was about, I thought I might be able to help.” She plops down on the chair beside me, then reaches over the bar, picking up a bottle of tequila and a glass.
“Nice to meet you.” I smile awkwardly.
“Sorry, this is my niece, Sierra. This is Sam, Bash, Ryker, Colin, Jake and Tank. And I’m sorry, but the rest of you I don’t know.” Guess he really hasn’t seen them in a while.
“Those over there are our prospects. The one with the glasses is Onyx. And the three around him are Kia, Sutter and Stryker. They are almost patched in and we felt this would be a good job for them.”
I smile and nod at them. It’s hard to explain, but I’m more nervous in this room with these men than I am dancing on the stage half dressed.
“So, Earl messaged and said there’s been a wrench in our original plan. That the pigs are out.”
“Yeah. Someone, and we’re pretty sure who, turned in the video to the police station. We had to go down there today for them to question Sierra. She was drugged and doesn’t remember the night, so there’s not much she can say. We didn’t mention the little video being sent around school yet. Since it technically wasn’t sent to her phone.”
The older men, Bash and Sam, along with the two younger ones, sit down at one table and Rico joins them. “Sierra, can you bring us a bottle of Jack and some glasses, please?”
Nodding, I slide off the chair and get them what they ask for. The one named Tank sits down at another table and pulls out his phone. I can see the four guys, the ones he called prospects, over at a third table, eyeing me. They’re looking me up and down like a pack of starving lions and I’m their next meal.
