“You know today’s Friday?” he asked.
“Yeah, so it is,” she said. She looked pasthis shoulder and got toher feet. “Duty calls, but if a certain bar is open tonight, Imight just see you there.”
It was why he opened on a Friday. Amydidn’t have many habits he could pin down, but every Friday, sheliked to dance, have a drink, and unwind. He noticed she never drank too much. A bottle, two at a push, and she never flirted. She usually turned downoffers to dance, although sometimes she would take a local up onthe offer. Never a tourist.
She was a woman who knew her own mind, what she wanted, and he found that addictive to watch. He couldn’tresist glancing behind him and staring at her round, shapely ass.The full curves weremore enticing than ever before. He felt an answering pull in hisdick, reminding him it had been a long time since he’d been with awoman.
Screwing around had been fun. He’d evenenjoyed a few of the tourists during his early years, but that was a long time ago. Danielhad never considered himself the settling down type, but as hewatched Amy, he couldn’t help but feel drawn to her. She was awoman no man had been able to pin down. She was a mystery, and yetat the same time, not at all.
He delved into his waffles, taking anotherlarge bite, knowing he could gladly spend all day watching her.Especially as she had seen his bruised knuckles and not even said aword about it. She hadn’t even asked where he got them.
Amy truly was special.
Chapter Two
Stepping into The Reaper bar, Amy saw how busy it was, not thatthis was any surprise to her. He didn’t have a band playing, butmusic came from the jukebox in the corner. She usually liked whenthere was a band, but the music was pretty good. No one was able tochange any song until it played in full.
There was already a lot of shouting.Couples intertwined on the dance floor, having a good time.
Before heading to the bar, she’d gone hometo change. She now lived in her parents’ house, as she actually put her grandparents’house up for rent. There was a nice family living in it now. Shedidn’t have any complaints from them, and she did go and do randomchecks.
Being a landlord wasn’t something shewanted, but she alsocouldn’t bring herself to sell her grandparents’ home. They hadworked their whole lives to get that house, and she wasn’t going tosell it.
When she asked her grandmother about herparents’ house, and whyshe had kept it, her grandmother said she knew one day Amy wouldget older and need the space as well as her independence, away fromhome. This is why she would never sell it.
Amy couldn’t help but wonder if shehad children one day, if theywould want a house of their own when they were older. She wasalways making plans for the future.
Stepping up to the bar, she saw August approach. “Evening, beautiful,” he said.
She rolled her eyes. “Evening, August.”
He blew her a kiss. “What can I get for you, because trust me when I say this, you can have anything. Just saythe word, and you can have anything your little heart desires.”
She couldn’t help but laugh. “Just abeer.”
“Are you sure I can’t tempt you withsomething more?”
Shaking her head, she tried to stifle herlaugh. August was a good guy, but he seemed to think he was a giftto all women, and in all honesty, she believed he could be. Shedidn’t have time to go to the doctor to deal with whatever sexualdisease he carried.
He popped the lid off the beer and handed itto her.
“Keep an eye on it, beautiful, a lot of people around, and Idon’t recognize them all.”
She had already placed her thumb across thelid.
There were always risks in their little town. Amy couldn’tremember an incident of a spiked drink, but that didn’t mean itdidn’t happen.
August had to deal with morecustomers, and Amyturned to stare out at the rest of the bar. It was busy tonight. She had forgotten how crazy it could get on a Friday night. It hadbeen a long week. There was no sign of Penelope, but she did answerher phone earlier, and was sniffling as another man had taken whathe wanted and left without a word.
Amy didn’t need to keep reminding herfriend that thishappened to her regularly. She loved Penelope, she really did. Thefirst time it happened, many years ago, Amy wanted to hunt thebastards down. Only, it happened week after week after week, untilshe realized this was the life Penelope had chosen.
Her grandmother had warned her, in mostsituations, tourists were just passing through looking for a good time. It wasthe same for men and women. Some women were looking for a goodtime, and they didn’t have to be single either. There was a lot tobe seen and discovered in a small tourist town like thisone.
Taking a sip of her beer, she couldn’thelp but wonder where Daniel was. It was rare for his bar to beopen and him not to be manning it. Not that there was a problemwith August. He was a good guy, you just needed to deal withhis incessant flirting. She was used to it. She’d seen August turn the charm on many women,it was why she didn’t fall for it.
Amy looked around the barand saw several groups playingat the pool tables. She worked her way around, catching the eye ofa few of the men, and ignoring them. Whenever she came to the bar,she never wore a dress. Seeing the number of bar fights that brokeout, she always wore boots and a pair of jeans. The tops alwayschanged. She always went a bit daring with the tops, like the oneshe wore today. It molded to the curves of her tits, and she knewit made them look as big as they were.
Some men and women had told hershe should try to hide hershape. Amy happened to like her own body. She was not a supermodel, but she worked with food for a living. She was happy with hercurves and love handles, and she often wore clothes that helped toenhance her small waist, full hips, and of course, large chest. Shealso knew she had a big ass as well, which she didn’tmind.
