I am falling for her. This hasn’t happened to me before. I am out of my damn mind for this woman, and I found her with some fucker’s hands all over her.
I know I lost my mind.
I shouldn’t have fucked her in here.
Now... now everything is fucked.
“You haven’t listened to a thing I told you, have you?” She glares at me as tears fall down her face. “Too busy staring at my tits.”
“Don’t be crass. Payton,” I snap. “Just stop and let me think.”
“Thank you very much for destroying my life. Now you never have to see me again.”
What?
I’m about to launch into a whole spiel about what bullshit that is when Alexandra opens the door, fury lining her face. Payton storms through it.
Leaving me.
“You phoned Ward,” I say to Alexandra.
“Yes. He’s expecting you in his office and I will be replacing your account manager,” she says coldly, then closes the door.
Motherfucking fuck.
CHAPTER TWENTY-NINE
KNOX
––––––––
I didn’t go back to the office. Why bother?
I know what’s going to happen. The CEO position will go to another applicant, and I will have to tell my family that I have let them down.
I have let myself down.
