I shut the door after her. Then, lifting the hammer, I turn to the fucker who’s staring up at me, terrified.
“Now, you were saying something about taking turns with my Omega?”
The room’s dark, with only the faint light from the blinds of the rooftop lights in the distance, showing me exactly where the man huddles.
“I-I… Man, I had no idea she was taken, or I would have never.” There he goes, whimpering again, and the sound coming from a full-grown man is absolutely pitiful.
I never said I’m a good guy or that I won’t implement justice when someone’s done something to hurt me or those I care about. Far from it. I’ll maim, break, and do whatever the hell is needed, but it’s not something my gorgeous little mouse needs to see.
I step toward the man. “Let me show you what happens when you touch what isn’t yours.”
He starts crying, and I roll my eyes, already swinging the hammer in his direction to ensure those hands don’t touch anyone for a long time.

DANICA
Abalmy breeze brushes against my skin. Yet goosebumps skate up my arm at the knowledge that Jasper’s in the storage room beating the snot out of some creep because of me.
Hey, I’m completely smitten with him for protecting me, but something scary crossed his face when he took my hammer to deal with the guy. Something fucking crazy.
I keep facing the door, reaching for the handle to stop him, but then I freeze. Behind me, the music and the party on the rooftop booms, but fear’s gripping me that I’m going to get Jasper into a world of trouble.
From in the room, the sounds reach me—the grunts, the dull thumps, the pained cries. Part of me cringes because I don’t fully recognize the Jasper I first met. Truth is, I don’t hate him for it. I just don’t want him to get in trouble, especially after seeing what happened with Seth and the whole engagement fiasco.
Glancing over my shoulder anxiously in case someone sees us, I spot the bar’s guard strolling toward us in his tight black pants and fitted black tee with the word Security printed across his chest.
My nerves tighten. “Oh, fuck!” He’s going to catch Jasper and report him.
At that same moment, Jasper steps out of the storage room, shutting it quickly behind him. The hammer is no longer in his grip, and his expression is surprisingly calm.
Alarm bells are flying off in my head. There are two specs of blood on his navy-blue button-up shirt, which is easily missed if you’re not looking for them.
His gaze moves right to the guard. “Hey, Jack,” he says casually, as if he hasn’t just come out of a room after beating up a man with a hammer.
My heart’s pounding in my chest, my gaze locked on the guard.
His mouth curls upward, and he exchanges a fist pump with Jasper, who in turn wraps his arm around my waist possessively and draws me against his side. Part of me is still in shock from what happened, from his violent response, yet another side of me absolutely adores him for coming to my rescue like my knight in shining armor.
“Jasper, is everything alright?” Jack asks.
My Alpha nods nonchalantly, saying, “I need you to take care of the mess in there. Show the drunk asshole out. He laid a hand on my girl earlier. Just keep it under wraps, as always, and ensure he doesn’t speak with the press. Also, he’s banned from this establishment.”
My gaze shifts between the two men, at their calm conversation as if they’ve had it dozens of times. How many people has Jasper beaten up?
“Leave it to me, buddy,” Jack answers with a grin. “Go enjoy your night.”
Jasper’s attention turns to me, that mind-blowing smile confusing me after what just took place. His hand tightens around me.
“Are you okay?” he whispers. “Did that asshole hurt you?”
I shake my head, still processing everything.
“He spooked the hell out of me, that’s all. I’m okay. But wh-what did you do in there?” I glance over my shoulder just as Jack slips inside the storage room. I catch a split-second glimpse of the man who attacked me, sitting on the floor, cradling his smashed hands, whimpering.
Fuck!
