My father knows.
Not only that, but he broke into her dorm room and ambushed her.
How dare he?
How fucking dare he?
My hands tremble in my lap as I fight with my desire to go and find him.Squeezing my eyes closed, I try to force myself to think rationally.
Being impulsive won’t get me anywhere.
My father is nothing if not calculated and malicious. He’ll have a plan for whichever way I react. And honestly, he’s probably expecting me to turn up and attempt to have this out with him.
He wants to see me while I’m vulnerable, and if he has any clue about how I feel about Abigail then he knows the state of mind I’ll be in.
He’ll be able to hurt me in a way he never has before.
He’ll cut me deeper and leave me bleeding out without a care in the world.
Fucking arsehole.
I hate him.
Hate him more than I ever thought possible.
The moment I open my eyes, she’s there watching me cautiously across the room while the girls try to distract her from what she’s been through tonight.
Because of me.
He sought her out because of me.
I drop my head into my hands and suck in a ragged breath.
“Bro?” Reese says, his hand landing on my shoulder. “Talk to us,” he begs.
I wait another second before looking up at him and then Oak.
“You look like you’re about to go and do something really fucking stupid,” Oak points out.
“What the fuck else am I meant to do here?” I ask helplessly, looking between the two of them as if the answer will magically appear in their eyes.
“Fuck that,” Theo barks from my other side. “He deserves for you to turn up and rip him a new one for this. How fucking dare he go anywhere near your girl.”
“Theo,” Reese warns.
“What? I’m so fucking done with controlling cunts of fathers. It’s time Elliot stood up for himself.”
“It’s not going to fucking get him anywhere though, is it?” Oak asks. “This is Johnathon Eaton we’re talking about.”
“I don’t give a fuck who it is. No one fucks with one of ours and gets away with it.”
Hearing Theo stand up for Abigail so fiercely makes my chest swell. I fucking love that they have so easily embraced her as one of us after hiding in the shadows for so long.
She deserves to have people standing with her, helping her discover the incredible person she’s always kept hidden away from the world.
“This is all my fault,” I mutter, feeling those words right to the tips of my toes. “All of this. If I never—” I swallow the words as I watch my girl.
My girl.
