“Boom? Why?” Rowan asked.

“Because I got Gordon to forward me the actual email he received from him.”

“What did it tell you?” Jack asked.

“A lot.” Dara said, and her excitement was palpable. “I used the full email header to track down his IP. And using the IP, I was able to track down the server. And using the server, I was able to come up with a location.”

Jack leaned closer. “You got a location?”

“The server traces back to the San Marcos Public Library.”

“San Marcos, Texas? That’s thirty minutes from here,” Jack said.

Rowan shot him a look. “And thirty minutes from San Antonio.”

“What’s in San Antonio?” Dara asked.

“Nothing,” Jack said. “When, exactly, was this email dated?”

“October ninth,” Dara said. “That’s when we know he was last at the library there using the computer. And I believe in all likelihood, he’s living somewhere near there now under an alias. I realize what you really want is a name, but until I manage to get one, this is the next best thing.”

Bryan studied the map, enlarging the area around the restaurant.

Evie was right. Mario’s Deep Dish Pizza was nowhere close to her new apartment near Zilker Park. So, why had someone put this flyer on her car?

WELCOME TO THE NEIGHBORHOOD.

Bryan opened up his phone and studied the screenshot he’d taken of the pizza flyer before sending it to the lab.

“Don’t you have something better to do on a Sunday afternoon?”

He looked up to see Liz cutting through the bullpen.

“Thought you left already,” Bryan said.

“Nope.” She leaned on the wall of his cube and nodded at the map on his computer. “What’re you looking at?”

“You ever been to Mario’s Deep Dish?”

“The pizza place up on Burnet Road?”

“Yeah.”

“I was there on a date once. Why?”

“Were they crowded?” he asked.

“Packed.”

That jived with all the positive reviews he’d found on the restaurant’s website.

“I’m trying to figure out why Mario’s would be passing out coupons all the way across town near Zilker Park,” Bryan said.

“Why do you care?”

He handed her his phone. “Evelyn Wood got that on her car.”
