Instead, she quietly followed him into the kitchen and leaned against the counter, still looking a little unsure as her eyes darted around the extremely sparse room. Once he’d passed her a beer and she’d taken a sip, she launched straight in.

“So, I’ve been thinking about what you said the other day, and I’m ... I’m ready.”

He almost choked on his beer. To say he was surprised was an understatement. He tried his hardest to hide it. What he couldn’t stop, though, was his smile stretching even wider, so wide it almost hurt. “Is that right?” All of a sudden, his day was looking up.

She cleared her throat. “I have some ground rules.”

“I’m all ears, sweetness.”

He took the opportunity to close the distance between them, feeling even more smug when a blush crept up her neck.

“This stays between us. No dates. Only sex.”

What the hell? No fucking way!

“I’m not a fan of being someone’s dirty little secret, darlin’.”

“If you’re not interested then ...” Alice started to push him away, but he pushed her butt right back against the counter.

“Oh, I’m interested, sweetness,” he whispered into her ear, delighting in the quiver it caused. “We’ll play by your rules ... for now.” A groan left his throat as a waft of chocolate and roses hit him. He needed more; he had to taste her. Letting his lips slide down her neck, he nipped and sucked, memorising her reactions as he went. Tonight, he’d turn her into an addict. He would make her crave him just as much as he already craved her.

By the time he’d kissed his way back up to her jaw, they were both panting. He didn’t think it were possible for her to look any sexier, until he saw those glossy blue eyes. Taking advantage of her parted lips, he wasted no time claiming her mouth and pushing his tongue inside until he was swallowing her moans. She tasted like beer and toothpaste.

Fucking beautiful.

As he slid his hands over her waist, he could feel his heartbeat slam against his chest. Even through her clothes, there was no mistaking the softness waiting for him underneath. The rest of the world around them melted away as their tongues collided and the kiss became more urgent.

She let her own hands roam over him, one going to his hair while the other pulled him so close he could feel her tremble. His whole body was pulsating. Never had a woman affected him like this before. They were only just getting started, and Alice Hart had already ruined him.

“I need you,” he muttered into her mouth, unsure if his words were even intelligible.

Placing her hands at the hem of his shirt, she went about pushing up the fabric. Reaching behind his neck, he momentarily broke their connection to pull the top over his head and throw it on the floor. Her fingers went straight to his chest, each stroke burning through him. It was his turn. He explored her curves until he couldn’t take it anymore. Using both hands, he made quick work of pushing her dress up and off. Pulling back, he freed her lips once again so her dress could join his shirt on the floor. And that was when he got his first feel of her silky, smooth skin.

Sweet Jesus.

A feral growl vibrated from his chest and down Alice’s throat. She felt so damn good.

“Wrap your legs around me, baby.”

Alice immediately complied. Within seconds she was off her feet, and they were on the move. It was time to take what was his.

If he thought he was addicted before, then he had a real damn problem now. Not only was sex with Alice unbelievable, but it was also terrifying. Once, twice, three times, and it still wasn’t enough. A part of him was worried that no matter how many times he took her, it would never be enough.

Even though she had insisted on a sex-only arrangement, it was pretty obvious that she’d never done casual before. A fact that he was using to his advantage. At first when he suggested she spend the night, she rightly questioned him. He’d eventually convinced her by telling her it was only so they could rest and repeat.

It was now Sunday, and if he had it his way, she wouldn’t be leaving anytime soon. They’d showered together, eaten breakfast together, and were currently drinking coffee together.

His lack of furniture had never bothered him until now. Actually, the general state of his house hadn’t bothered him, not until Alice was standing in front of him in his bare kitchen in only a shirt looking like some sort of heavenly goddess. She deserved to spend her time in someplace grander than his hovel. A mansion maybe. Or a castle. Hell, a goddamn palace might do it.

“I’m gonna go get dressed,” Alice announced, pushing away from the counter.

“Why would you go and do a thing like that, sweetness?” He took another sip of his drink and attempted to hide his smile behind the cup.

“Because, Brady, I don’t fancy driving home in your T-shirt.”

“Then don’t leave.”
