Page 28 of His Human to Chase

My cock hardens and unsheathes itself from my pocket at the thought of pumping my seed deep into her womb. I take a deep breath, refusing to let my cock overrule my need to care for my mate right now. She is no doubt sore, and she is exhausted. I cannot will my cock back into its pocket since all I can think about is how beautiful Skylar will be with a swollen belly, but I can try to think of other things and make sure not to interrupt my sweet human’s sweet dreams. At least, I can last until she wakes on her own. Then I may see if she is willing to grow with my seed now.

Skylar

We all sit at the tables in the dining hall as those who went out to look for Alice start returning home. They were all told by Ralleth to come back before night falls tonight, but darkness came a while ago, and still, none of them have returned. Everyone is growing antsy, but Yril is taking it especially hard.

“I think I should go look for them,” Yril rubs his hands together again like he can rub out all of the nerves and worry he has. “They should be returned by now, at least some of them.”

“If you go, I go,” I wiggle around in his lap, trying to get his cock out of his pocket to distract him in one of the best ways.

“You will not go back out into those trees until I know for certain they are safe,” Yril’s lips pull back to show off the sharpened fangs that fell fifteen minutes ago and have refused to retract.

“What about if we were to play?”

“We will play when I know for certain the trees are safe,” Yril gives me a pointed look like his answer is obvious.

“Wait,” I turn in his lap, not believing what I’m hearing. “So, no more chase?”

“What?” His eyes move from where they’ve been piercing the doors to the great hall down to me in bewilderment. “Of course not! I will chase you, pin you down, and fuck you until you can take no more.”

There’s a soft coughing from one of the other women. And the sound of the other demons around us moving in their seats. No doubt plenty of them are trying not to laugh because my cheeks are burning bright red now.

“Yril,” I start to tell him he doesn’t need to go into that much detail, but he leans his head closer to mine.

“Say my name again, little floof,” He gives me a wicked grin, and I see the fangs have finally retracted. “I’ll let you run from me now.”

I open my mouth to tell him that now is not the time to be making those kinds of requests because, one, I really want to do it, and two, we should be upset and sad because Alice still isn’t back and neither are all of the demons that were sent out to find her. I shouldn’t be getting horny right now, and I definitely shouldn’t be thinking about how much I don’t care about getting railed out in the middle of the tribe under the dark sky when Yril catches me.

The great hall doors open slowly, and Deja is on her feet, running toward the doors faster than anyone can stop her. She jumps into Dath’s arms as soon as he walks through, and he gives her a small smile before holding her tightly to his body. He is the first of a handful that follows right behind him. They all come to sit near where Yril and I are since we chose to sit close to where Ralleth will sit when he comes back.

“Are we the first to return?” Dath asks as he looks around at the pitiful numbers in the dining hall.

“You are,” Yril keeps his voice neutral, but I can feel the tension in his body. Dath is assessing the injuries on the males left in the tribe. The injuries that Yril inflicted on them in an act of bloodlust. Thankfully, Dath doesn’t say anything about any of them, and most of them are healing well enough. As angry as Yril was, he never went for any killing blows on anyone other than Ralleth.

“We will wait for the others,” Dath says with finality. His hand moving to cup Deja’s chin, tilting her face up to meet his eyes. His voice lowers so much that I know his words aren’t for us, but he’s not very good at being quiet. Most of the demons aren’t good at being quiet. “Do not cry for me, Deja. I am home now. I will come back to you, always.”

Yril pulls me back against his chest, his hand resting against my collarbone as though to say he feels the same as Dath feels for his human. A smile tugs at my lips but is quickly dismissed when the great hall doors open again. A few more males enter, none of them Ralleth, so we continue waiting before we all speak with one another.

I don’t know how much time has passed, but my legs are kicked up in Yril’s lap, and my cheek rests against his chest. I’m forcing myself to stay awake, even though I know I’m more than welcome to fall asleep in his lap. Deja fell asleep soon after she was in Dath’s arms, but that was because she sleeps worse when he’s not here. I don’t have the same excuse. I’m just overly comfortable in my demon’s lap, and a nap is a great way to kill time.

It’s way past the time everyone was supposed to be back when Ralleth finally makes his way into the great hall. The five demons that enter with him all look exhausted. Two of them smile softly as one of the women wraps her arms around each of them before pulling them down the hall by their hands. One of the demons shakes his head, but he follows after her nonetheless. They were part of the group with Ralleth, so any information they have, he can surely give us. That’s probably why no one asks for them to stay and instead lets them go off with their mate.

Ralleth falls into his chair, his mate clinging to him like an octopus. No one seems to mind how clingy we all are. If anything, they are either envious or understanding. Ralleth runs his claws through his mate’s hair as she presses against him. His eyes never leave her body, even as he begins speaking.

“We were unable to find your sister,” Ralleth doesn’t need to look up to understand how upset everyone in the room is by his words. “We found a few other males who were taken care of. Dath?”

Dath shifts in his seat but makes sure not to wake Deja. “We followed Toron’s tether as long as we could, but we never found him or his mate. We did find one safety building where we are almost certain a fight happened. Where they went afterward, I could not tell you.”

“Bodies?” Ralleth asks.

“Two males,” Dath answers, his hand rubbing softly against Deja’s back. “Any supplies they had were taken, so someone survived the attack. I am hoping it was Toron.”

Ralleth takes a deep breath as he nods his head. “Do you want to return to the trees tomorrow?”

“Yes,” Yril answers instead of Dath, who Ralleth is asking.

Yril’s met with a glare that tells us he isn’t allowed to be speaking right now. I might be more upset about how Ralleth is treating him, but Yril did just try to murder him. Thankfully, Yril doesn’t take any offense in the glare, either. He just grits his teeth and lowers his gaze, an act of submission I’m sure he hates offering.

“I will return to the trees if it is what you ask, but I think we need to wait to see if Toron is successful in finding his mate before we send even more males out there,” Dath’s reply is reasonable and probably the most rational. Unfortunately, I want my friend found, and Yril wants his brother back. I keep my fingers pressed tight against Yril’s throat, trying to keep us both calm as we listen to plans being made that we are not happy with.
