“Don’t worry I’ll be fine. It’s just the council.”

I set her down and she walked back over to her puppies.

“Noah don’t let Xander near them.”

He gave me a thumbs up as Xander glared at me.

“Jeez. You get one dog pregnant and suddenly you can’t be trusted.” Xander ranted.

I looked at them time on my phone. “Blake we need to leave.”

“OK, let me get the guards.”

“No.”

“Why not.”

“The council doesn’t want too many werewolves to know about them. You’re the first werewolf in know who has been invited by the council.”

He sighed. “Are you sure we’ll be safe?”

“There’s over 100 of the worlds best hunters guarding the mansion where the council is. I think we’ll be fine.”

“Alright let’s go.”

“Another thing, I have to drive.”

Xander snickered. “You? Drive? I’ve never even seen got on a bike.”

I rolled my eyes at him and ignored him. “We’re taking my truck.”

Blake groaned. “Why?”

“Because only I know the location of the council. It’s only a few hours.”

“No Artemis you’re going to be tired.”

“I’ve stayed up for 36 hours straight cracking a rogue case who was rumored to know about the council. Driving for a few hours is nothing.”

Blake sighed. “Alright let’s go.”

Blake put our bags in the back seat then hopped in the passenger seat.

I hoped in the drivers seat and pulled out of the drive way.

A few hours later I was met with large gates.

Blake was asleep. It’s probably best. Being surrounded by people with silver would overwhelm him.

He started stirring around in his sleep until he opened his eyes.

Oh no.

“I smell silver.” He started freaking out.

I stopped my truck in front of the gates.

I touched his arm. “Calm down. If you freak out too much they will kill you.”
