“Well, you said it was an open adoption, right? Maybe Dominic’s adoptive parents know more information.”
Molly nodded and wiped away her tears with the back of her hand. “That’s what Dominic said, too.”
“That’s why his mom is coming. Now, it all makes sense.”
“Will you come with me when I meet her?” she asked.
“You couldn’t keep me away.”
“Ty, I might have a brother. I might not be alone in this world.”
“Baby, as long as you have me, you’ll never be alone.”
Molly giggled. “I love how corny you are. I do love you, Ty.”
“As corny as it sounds, I’m serious, though. You’ll never be alone. You have me, Meadow, Penelope, her kids, the guys, and Hunter, and you know now that my parents love you, and so do my siblings.”
“I know, I know,” she said. “And I love everyone you mentioned, but having someone who is blood-related to me is different. When I was a little girl, my best friend, Mary, had three older brothers. I used to wish I had an older brother who would be protective of me.”
I nodded and chuckled. “I think I get it. Ask Julia, though. She’ll tell you that you were lucky not having brothers. Dominic’s a good guy, though. And, of course, he’s the shortest on the team. He has to be related to you.” That made my girl laugh, just as I had hoped.
The Three Musketeers Chat Group
Me: So, I have some news, and I know Pen’s been worried, so I figured I’d just text you both at the same time.
Meadow: Girl, you already told me last night that you were married and having twins. I know everything.
Pen: I think something BIG happened today….
Meadow: Bigger than being married without your best friends by your side and escaping a tornado to tell said husband that you’re having two babies with him?
Me: I don’t know if it’s BIGGER news than both of those things, but it’s life changing. I might have a brother.
Meadow: Well, duh! You now have two hot brothers-in-law. That happens when you get married, ya know.
Pen: They are hot, aren’t they? Wait a minute. If I think they are hot, does that mean I’m calling Ty hot since they are all identical? I love him and all, but he’s your man, Molly. I just can’t see him as hot….
Meadow: Tyler is smoking hot and so are Carter and Landon! Maybe if I got together with one of them, we could be sisters!
Me: I don’t know where to begin…
1. Yes, I know I have brothers-in-law now
2. Yes, they are smoking hot!
3. Meadow - if you were to marry one of them, that would be awesome, but I don’t think they are the guys for you….
4. Pen - it’s fine if you think Ty is hot because he is, but I get where you’re coming from.
5. I think I might have a real, full-blooded brother. Like he was born when my parents were in high school and put up for adoption. We’re waiting on the DNA test we took this morning to find out for sure.
My phone vibrated in my hand, and I saw that there was a request for a video conference call from Meadow and included Penelope.
“What the what?! I had to see your face to make sure you were okay, and this seems too important to say over text.” Meadow said as she pushed her oversized sunglasses up on top of her blonde hair. She was sitting on a bench in Central Park with a coffee in one hand and her phone stretched out in front of her. Behind her was a row of beautiful tulips, and you could see people jogging in the background. I also noticed her camera bag sitting next to her on the bench. “I don’t understand. How? Mimi would have told you!”
“Dominic Anderson might be your real brother?” Pen asked quietly. “Little ears that don’t have a filter might hear, so I have to whisper.”
“Which one is Dominic?” Meadow asked. “And how did this all happen?”
