Andrea’s brow furrows in thought, her lips drawn into a thoughtful frown. “Both options sound amazing, but I can’t decide either. Maybe we should just let Josh surprise us,” she suggests, turning to me with a hopeful smile.

I grin at their comical behavior, secretly amused by their inability to make a decision.

“Are you sure? You know I love a good challenge,” I tease, enjoying the playful banter between us.

Tanya nods eagerly, her eyes alight with excitement. “Absolutely! Surprise us with your culinary prowess, Josh. We trust you,” she says, her voice filled with confidence.

Andrea nods in agreement, a hint of anticipation dancing in her eyes. “Yeah, surprise us. We place our stomachs in your capable hands,” she echoes, her voice brimming with excitement.

With their decision made, I make a mental note to whip up something truly special for my two favorite customers. After all, what’s life without a little spontaneity and adventure?

I head back to the kitchen to work my culinary magic. I return after a couple of minutes with two dishes each.

“Oh my God, my stomach is practically singing.” Tanya says, obviously delighted by my decision.

“Let’s dig in.” Andrea says.

As the evening wears on, I catch glimpses of Andrea looking down at her phone, her brow furrowed in thought. I make a mental note to check in on her later once Tanya has left.

Tanya suddenly bursts into laughter, her eyes sparkling with mischief. “Oh, Josh, you have to hear this!” she exclaims, her voice filled with excitement.

I raise an eyebrow, intrigued by her sudden outburst. “What’s so funny?” I ask, leaning in closer to catch every word.

Tanya grins mischievously, her eyes glinting with amusement. “There was this time in high school when Andrea tripped and fell into the fountain during lunch,” she begins, her voice tinged with barely suppressed laughter.

My eyes widen in surprise as I try to recall the memory. “Wait, seriously?” I ask, struggling to contain my own laughter at the mental image.

Andrea’s cheeks flush with embarrassment as she nods sheepishly. “Yeah, it was pretty embarrassing,” she admits, her voice tinged with humor.

Tanya continues to entertain us with the details of the incident, her laughter infectious as she paints a vivid picture of Andrea’s clumsy mishap.

“And then,” she adds between giggles, “Josh, you came to the rescue and picked us up after school.”

I can’t help but chuckle at the memory, the image of Andrea dripping wet and flustered as she stumbled out of the school coming mind.

“Ah, yes, I remember that day, I really didn’t understand what happened, but you both kept screaming ‘DRIVE,’” I reply, a fond smile tugging at the corners of my lips.

Andrea joins in the laughter, her embarrassment giving way to amusement as she recalls the events of that fateful afternoon.

“I still can’t believe I managed to trip over my own feet and fall into that fountain,” she says, shaking her head in disbelief.

Tanya grins wickedly, her eyes dancing with mischief. “It was definitely one for the books,” she quips, her laughter echoing through the restaurant.

“Or how about that time in high school when we had that crazy food fight in the cafeteria?” Tanya asks, her voice tinged with a hint of unease.

My brow furrows in confusion as I try to remember her telling me about it, because she tells me everything.

“Wait, what? I don’t remember you mentioning a food fight.” No longer feeling a pang of guilt for forgetting.

Andrea’s eyes widen as she seems to recall the incident.

“I don’t think I can forget that—it was an interesting afternoon,” Andrea says chuckling.

Tanya smiles as she recounts more details of the chaotic scene that unfolded that day.

“It was a disaster. Someone accidentally knocked over a tray of food, and before we knew it, the entire cafeteria erupted into chaos. Food flying everywhere, people slipping and falling...it was like something out of a movie,” she explains, her voice filled with a mix of horror and amusement.

I can’t help but chuckle at the absurdity of the situation, the mental image of a food fight breaking out in the school cafeteria too ridiculous to ignore.
