I nod, taking a deep breath to steady my nerves. Giving speeches has never been my strong suit, but tonight feels different. This restaurant is more than just a business venture; it’s a dream realized.

Together, Tanya and I make our way to the front of the restaurant, where a small stage has been set up for the speeches. The room is buzzing with energy, the air thick with anticipation.

As I step onto the stage, the crowd falls silent, all eyes fixed on me. My heart pounds in my chest as I prepare to speak, taking in a deep breath—summoning every ounce of courage I possess.

“Ladies and gentlemen, thank you all for joining us this afternoon,” I begin, my voice steady despite the nerves churning inside me. “Today marks the culmination of a lifelong dream for me, and I couldn’t be more thrilled to share it with each and every one of you.”

As I speak, I can feel the weight of the moment pressing down on me, the enormity of what this day represents threatening to overwhelm me.

But just as I open my mouth to continue, the door opens, and Andrea walks in.

“Andrea,” I whisper, my voice catching in my throat.

She stands by the door, her eyes filled with an intensity that takes my breath away. And then, she speaks.

“I love you, Josh. I would never choose anyone but you.”

Her words hang in the air between us, the weight of them crashing over me like a tidal wave. I stand there, stunned into silence, unable to tear my gaze away from hers.

For a moment, the world falls away, leaving only Andrea and me, suspended in a moment of raw emotion. She starts to walk toward the stage with our eyes locked on each other.

As she stops in front of the stage, I respond with a voice filled with emotion, “Andrea, I love you. More than anything in this world.”

The words spill from my lips before I can stop them, a confession that has been brewing inside me for far too long. And as I pull her into my arms, the pieces of my fractured heart slotting back together, I know with absolute certainty that this is where I’m meant to be.

As we stand there, wrapped in each other’s embrace, the room erupts into applause, the sound a symphony of joy and celebration. And in that moment, surrounded by the love and support of our friends and family, I feel as though I’m finally home.

For in that moment, I realize that love has the power to heal even the deepest wounds, to mend broken hearts and forge connections that defy explanation.

And I wouldn’t have it any other way.

As the adrenaline from the successful restaurant opening begins to fade, Andrea and I find ourselves lingering in the empty dining area, surrounded by the remnants of the evening’s festivities. The room is bathed in a warm glow, the soft light casting long shadows across the polished wooden tables.

I glance over at Andrea, her expression a mix of exhaustion and elation. Despite the whirlwind of emotions that have swept through us both, there’s a sense of peace settling over us, a quiet understanding that binds us together in this moment.

“Looks like we did it,” I say with a weary smile, gesturing to the bustling kitchen staff as they work to tidy up the space.

Andrea nods, a tired but satisfied grin tugging at the corners of her lips. “Yeah, it’s been quite the journey,” she replies, her voice soft with emotion.

As we begin to cleanup, the conversation turns to anecdotes and memories from the night’s events filling the air. We laugh and joke as we work, the tension of the past few days slowly melting away.

But even as we lose ourselves in the easy rhythm of our banter, there’s a sense of something unspoken lingering between us, a question that hangs in the air like a delicate thread.

And then, as if sensing the shift in the atmosphere, Andrea turns to me with a hesitant smile. “Hey, Josh?” she says, her voice tinged with uncertainty.

I glance up from my task, meeting her gaze with a curious expression. “Yeah?”

“For everything. For believing in me, for supporting me...for being you.”

Andrea’s eyes sparkle with unshed tears as she squeezes my hand, her smile radiant in the dim light of the restaurant. “I’m just glad to be here, with you,” she says softly. “I am so proud that you have realized your dream. Thank you for letting me be a part of your day.”

I feel my heart swell with warmth at her words, a rush of affection flooding through me like a tidal wave. “Andrea, you don’t have to thank me,” I say earnestly, reaching out to take her hands in mine. “You’ve been here for me, encouraging me to move forward with this.. And I can’t imagine doing any of this without you by my side.”

I realize with a sudden and startling clarity that there’s nowhere else I’d rather be. With Andrea by my side, anything is possible. And together, we’ll weather whatever storms may come our way, stronger and more resilient than ever before.

“Hey, Andrea,” I say, my voice tinged with anticipation. “I was thinking...how about we go out tomorrow morning? Just you and me?”
