“His cock.”

My jaw dropped, and I glanced around, horrified that someone might have heard her. Satisfied that the pulsating beat had drowned her out, I turned back to my crazy friend. “Well, you can’t.”

She flicked her head and wriggled her hips in flexible moves that would make a seasoned pole dancer jealous, then she leaned in. “Hey, you can take a photo for me.”

“What?”

“Take a photo of his . . .” She put her hands to her groin and moved them to symbolize a penis, then wriggled her eyebrows at me.

My eyes just about lunged out of my sockets. “Have you lost your mind?”

“A sneaky one when he’s not looking.”

“No!” I slapped her shoulder. “Don’t be ridiculous.”

“Geez, you’re such a party pooper.”

“And you’re crazy.”

“No, I’m not. I’m curious. You can’t tell a woman that you’ve seen the biggest cock in the world and not prove it.”

My jaw dropped. “You don’t believe me?”

She shrugged and gave me that cute smile that allowed her to get away with anything.

“I’m not taking a photo of his cock—” The music stopped mid-sentence.

A violent heatwave flashed up my neck and cheeks.

And everyone in the entire restaurant turned to me.

Chapter Fifteen

Embarrassment blazed through me and as I was about to self-combust, Lolly burst into laughter. She doubled over, clutching her stomach in hysterical agony, leaving me exposed to the world in the center of the dance floor.

I slinked back to our table. Calvin’s cheeky grin confirmed he, along with everyone on the Gold Coast, had heard what I’d said. Clayton cocked his head and had a curious look on his face that I couldn’t read. Was it curiosity? Disgust? Either way, I was fairly certain his interest in me had just nosedived.

Lolly was still cracking up with laughter as she sat beside Calvin.

“So . . . we know what you two were talking about. The question is, who?” Calvin was just as forthright as his wife.

Lolly reached over the table and placed her hand over mine. “You okay?”

“Ahhh, no.”

“Don’t worry. It was hilarious.”

“For you, maybe.”

“So, cough it up. Who were you talking about?” Calvin repeated his question.

“Oh, just?—”

“Nothing,” I cut Lolita off before she blurted it all out.

With bulging eyes, I tried to indicate to Clayton at my side. With my hand strangling the stem of my glass, I swallowed the rest of my wine in one gulp.

“It’s just girl talk.” She winked at me and reached for the wine list. “Looks like we need more wine.” She managed to guide the conversation away from me with ease, and a discussion over our wine choices ensued.
