“Can I have your license, please?”

Benson handed it over, and as I photocopied the card, I noted his age as forty-seven. Benson was fast becoming my next sexual conquest. I really should stop thinking of them like that; I sounded like a dominatrix.

Then again, maybe Memphis had a little bit of that in her.

Oh, jeez. Now I’m thinking about Memphis as if she’s another person.

I really am losing my marbles.

I needed to change my focus. “So, what do you do?”

“I’m a journalist forSpicemagazine. We specialize in articles on functions and special events, like product launches, conferences, exhibitions, etcetera, etcetera. I’m always looking out for the latest trends.”

I cringed. “This conference hasn’t started off well then—having to change the venue at late notice.”

“True, but they seem to have landed on their feet.”

I nodded. “They were lucky we didn’t have the conference room booked.”

“Sure were. I’m happy, though. I’d much rather stay a bit farther from the center of Surfers Paradise anyway. I’m looking forward to a bit of R and R.” He smiled again, and I loved how his whole face lit up. Benson seemed to be very comfortable with himself. Compared to some of the men I’d met this year, this was a refreshing change.

“So, here’s your card for room forty. You’re on the seventh floor.” I checked Benson’s ring finger as he reached for the card. It was unadorned.

“Perfect,” he said. “I hope I have a great view.”

“It’s amazing. You’ll love it.”

Benson grabbed the handle of his suitcase, and as he made his way to the elevator, I admired his figure. Older men were quickly reaching the top of my hit list.

Would Benson be just as amazing in the bedroom as Henry is?

The orgasms I’d had with Henry were the stuff dreams were made of. But was it just him, or did all older men possess this wonderful gift?

I had to find out.

Benson didn’t know it yet, but there was little chance he was going to get all the R and R he wanted.

As I giggled, Needledick arrived to take over my shift, and I wiped the smile off my face.

“Morning, Jane.”

“Morning.”

“Been busy?”

“Yes, but mainly with getting ready for the conference.”

“Oh, that’s right. I forgot about that.”

My jaw nearly dropped. He was the hotel manager; he shouldn’t forget important things like that. “Well, I have sorted everything for the conference. About one-third of the guests checked in last night; the rest will be in this morning. Hopefully, it goes smoothly.”

“I’m sure it will. You’ve done an amazing job.”

My jaw actually dropped. Needledick never complimented me.

He grinned at me, and it was just a little bit creepy. I said goodbye and dashed for the elevator.

Men were weird creatures.
