It was my turn to bulge my eyes. “Really? You mean I’ve had a sexual experience you haven’t?” That was a shocker. I would’ve sworn she’d have done just about everything there was to do with sex.
“Yep. You should’ve joined them, though.”
“I couldn’t do it. I just stood back and watched.” I paused to look at the surrounding tables, then I lowered my voice. “I think I liked it.”
“Of course you did, babe. It would make me as horny as hell too. And let’s face it, you’ve become a bit of a voyeur.”
I nodded, mulling over her comment. Since the first of January this year, I’d watched fourteen men get their rocks off. Each man offered something different from the experience.
Watching was fun, and with it came knowledge. I was discovering what gave me sexual gratification, and along the way, I was learning a heap about how to please a man.
However, I still wasn’t sure if this would ultimately help or hinder me from finding the man of my dreams. That was the big question.
“You’re frowning.”
I licked the chocolate off the spoon and huffed. “I was just wondering if this whole . . . experiment would help me find the man of my dreams.”
“Jane . . . in the last fourteen weeks, you’ve got your rocks off fourteen times. Sure, you’ve only had sex once in that time, but you’ve had mind-blowing orgasms, and the guys have, too. You’ve met more men this year than you’ve met in your lifetime.”
I nodded, hardly able to believe that statistic.
“Okay, babe, here’s my prediction.” She placed her hand over mine, and her expression grew serious. . . scaring the hell out of me. “By Christmas this year, you’ll be head over heels in freakin’ love.”
I cocked an eyebrow at her. “Yeah, right! And where am I going to find this love of my life?”
She grinned her gorgeous smile. “I think he’ll be one of your sexual encounters. He won’t be able to stay away from you. Just like your horny cowboy.”
My thoughts shifted to Billy, my hunky urban cowboy. So far, he was the only man who’d come back. If I was going to find the love of my life, then I needed to get to know these men better.
Now that sounds like fun.
But how the hell am I going to do that?
Chapter Three
It was my day off, and the only interesting thing I’d done all day was go shopping for a new disguise.
I’d started at the costume shop and tried on a nurse’s uniform, a naughty teacher’s outfit, a stupid nun’s habit, plus a dozen or so other costumes that were all ridiculous.
In the end, I went to the dress shops in the plaza instead and searched for the perfect dress to suit my sexy twin, Memphis.
It was now four o’clock in the afternoon, and I was on my balcony, enjoying the amazing view over the beach, savoring a glass of Shaw & Smith wine with a packet of corn chips. So, it was a lovely coincidence that as I pictured myself in that sexy new outfit, the perfect man who could help me christen the red dress put on a show on the grass strip between the walking path and the beach in front of the Hot Horizon Hotel.
He wore tight little shorts and running shoes, and his skin was a gorgeous golden tan. His body glistened with sweat as he went through a crushing exercise routine on the grass, as if the performance was just for me.
Squats, crunches, lunges, push-ups, and a few other exercises I’d never seen before. He worked his legs, arms, back, abs, and all the muscles in between. The guy was a machine. It was a punishing workout, showing off his strength and stamina. When it was over, he reached for a towel and headed toward the ocean. I thought that would be the last I’d see of him, but I was wrong.
Half an hour later, the sexy fitness fanatic strolled back up the beach and headed right into my hotel. It’s my lucky day.
I raced inside, grabbed my master access card, and ran out my door to the elevator. I jumped in when it arrived and jabbed the button for the lobby a dozen times waiting for the stupid thing to get moving again. My timing had to be perfect to make this work.
The blood in my veins pounded in my neck as the elevator pinged open on the lobby floor.
Holy wow!Heaven in a hot body was right there.
He was so much hotter than I’d been able to witness from four floors up. He smiled at me, and holy smokes, that was the most glorious smile I’d ever seen. As we passed each other, I inhaled delicious aromas of sea salt and coconut-laced suntan lotion.
The second I stepped out of the elevator, I spun on my heel. “Oh, hold the elevator please.” I shoved my hand forward, blocking the doors from closing.
