The door opens as he leans away from me and then leads me out of the elevator and we’re in the Blue Sky foyer and his hand lightly touches the small of my back as we walk past the reception desk and along the corridor that takes us to his office and my work area. We walk past employees in their offices, starting their day. Some wave a morning greeting to David. Someone asks David a question, but I don’t hear what they say. My attention is riveted to David and his unwavering presence until he sits me at my desk and asks me if I’ve eaten breakfast.
I haven’t. There’s nothing but the spaghetti dinner he made me take home and I didn’t want that for breakfast. He growls at me and tells me to order breakfast and lunch, before one of his managers steals him away for the morning.
He kisses me every chance he gets; in his office, the break room, hallways, the emergency stairs.
I tingle all over, damp and slippery between my legs. My blood simmers and I can’t get comfortable no matter what I’m doing.
I’ve broken the seal. I’m no longer a leper. I can’t get enough of his looks, his touches, mouth, hands. The promise that simmers in his eyes saying there’s much more he wants to do to me.
I can’t drag my eyes off the massive bulge that tents his pants when he walks past. The long, thick ridge that defines the material and holy hell I had no idea men could be that big. The way he strokes himself as he sits at his desk when he thinks I’m not looking, but I am. Always. I can’t not.
Dragon, meet slayer.
I’m happy to land on that sword.
Literally.
I’m a virgin. Not naive.
Never naive, and God, if I don’t want him to do all the filthy things that slide through my mind. My private porno I want to script, fund and shoot.
Cherry well and truly popped.
I’m going to take him up on those promises. They’re not like the promises anyone’s made me in the past. They’re not empty.
I sit at my desk, not seeing the screen or doing any of the things I should be doing. David’s gaze weighs on me through the glass that separates his office from my work area. I tingle all over and resist the urge to look back at him.
I can’t keep this to myself. I take my cell and send Maddy a text.
Me: I kissed him.
As I’m putting the cell on the desk, it pings.
Maddy: Who did you kiss?
I peer into David’s office, but he’s caught up on the phone, the familiar line deepening between his brows. I chew my bottom lip, unsure how to proceed, but I need the support of a friendly voice to ground me.
Me: The boss.
I inwardly wince, but hit send. The reply is immediate.
Maddy: OMG! How? What? Why? The Blue Sky boss? I need details. Is he hot?
Maddy sends a photo of David at a business event. I recognize the woman hanging off his arm and my stomach sours. Samantha.
Maddy: OMG he IS Hot! ?? ??
Maddy: ?
Maddy: BTW who’s the tart? She looks desperate
The woman David had a relationship with before me. The future mother of his child. Possibly. Maybe.
Me: His last girlfriend, and maybe I will
Maddy: OMG, did you just say what I think you said?
Me: I can’t help myself
