My stomach twists and tightens. I can only imagine who she’d want to use that dose for.
“Of course,” Alexei’s accent thickens, and he grins. “There are two vials.” Opening the pouch, he pulls out one of the vials along with a needle. Intent filling his expression. He’s going to inject whatever Heavenly Rose is into me. “Edik, hold my niece still,” he orders, speaking to the man I could feel at my back.
Sasha releases me and giggles in glee. This is going to be even better than what I intended.
I try my best to maneuver away from them all, but Edik grabs hold of my arms with enough force I’m sure I’ll have bruises there.
Alexei fills a needle with the contents of the vial. My eyes stay glued to the tip of the needle, watching as he flicks liquid from it. A moment later, Alexei grips my arm, lifts my sleeve up, plunges the needle in me, and sends the Heavenly Rose inside me. I scream as it burns going in my system. “The beauty of this drug is it doesn’t have to go directly in a vein for it to work. I give it five minutes before it takes effect.”Stepping back from me, he motions to Sasha. “Go ahead and have some fun for the time being, but don’t hurt her too bad.
Edik lets me go as my sister moves in.
It’s now or never if I’m going to deal with her. Time is of the essence. Lowering the knife from the inside of Shiner’s hoodie I jump for Sasha.
Everything seems to happen at once. A loud crashing sound comes from the other room, and my name is called out. Curses are shouted, but I ignore them all. I keep my sister in my line of focus. I can feel the drug starting to take effect, but I need to do this.
“What do you think you’re doing?” Sasha snaps, eyes narrowed.
“Making sure you can’t make my life a living hell anymore and protecting those who I love most,” I answer, twirling the knife in my hand. “You won’t ever get to hurt the little boy who wants me to be his mommy again.”
“I’ll kill you.” Sasha declares. “You won’t be able to kill me. You’re pathetic. Not strong enough to take me on, and you know it.”
“If I’m going to die, I’m taking you with me.” I shrug, lick my lips, and do my best to focus. My vision is becoming hazier, and my body feels like it’s on fire with arousal.
Sasha pulls out a dagger of her own and rushes me. The two of us go at it. I slice at her arm, stumbling a bit, and she laughs.
“You stupid bitch.”
“I’m not the stupid one,” I slur and wobble. “I’m not the one who threw away something special.”
Sasha screams and jumps for me. I barely have a chance to realize the movement when it happens, and I lift the knife in my hand and plunge it into her chest. She makes a crying sound and falls to her knees, then back, her hand going to the blade stuck in her chest.
My own legs give out beneath me, but my knees never meet the ground.
“Fuck, Olly, honey.” Shiner’s voice at my ear fills me with so many emotions, but also the arousal blazing through my body.
“Wyatt.” There’s no way to keep the moan from my voice. “They gave me something. It burns.” It’s all I can do to get closer to him, to sink into his warmth. “God, I can feel it inside me. Burning. Between my legs.”
“What did they give you, honey?” Shiner asks. The gruff tone in his voice sends shivers down my spine, causing me to moan.
“Heavenly Rose,” I pant, clawing at his chest. “Oh God, it’s too much. I need you, Wyatt. Please make it stop.”
Shiner brushes a hand through my hair and kisses my lips. “Don’t worry, Olive, I’m gonna take care of you.”
It’s the last thing I hear before everything goes dark.
CHAPTER TWENTY-FOUR
SHINER
Son of a bitch. The last thing I wanted to do right now was knock my woman out. Anger pours through my veins, knowing she’d been drugged with one of the worst drugs out there.
In the throes of the drug, she’d been able to do what I didn’t want her to do. But I also heard what she said to her sister. She did it for Milo and me. To Olive, her killing her sister was her way of protecting us. It’s not going to stop her from getting her ass tanned, but I can respect her reasoning.
“She okay?” Blow asks, joining me where I’m still holding my woman to me while staring at the dead woman.
“She will be,” I answer and drag my gaze to Blows. “Had to knock her out. They drugged her, and I can’t help her here. I need to get her to the clubhouse where I can give her a sedative, and she can sleep through the worst of it.”
“What did they give her?” Blow’s brow creases, his expression grim.
