“Are you ready?”

“God yes, please…”

He shifted slightly, then began vigorously pumping, and with every stroke his stiffened cock rubbed against her clit.

“I won’t stop until you come,” he growled, his lips suddenly at her ear, “and I want to hear you scream.”

His words fueled her growing arousal, and as she moaned and writhed beneath him, he lowered his mouth to her breasts. He began sucking gently, eliciting soft moans, then abruptly bit her puckered nipples. As sparks suddenly crackled through her body there was no stopping the powerful orgasm. Abruptly moving his mouth over hers, he muffled her cries until her last spasm passed, then abruptly pulled out and exploded over her stomach.

Slowly moving off her body, Donovan half-walked, half-staggered, into the bathroom. After quickly wiping himself up, he dampened a hand towel and carried it back to the bed. As he sat beside her and cleaned her stomach, she ran her hand down his arm.

“Donovan, you make me feel—I don’t know what the word is.”

“Maybe there isn’t one,” he murmured, then leaned down and softly kissed her, “Now sit up. You’re going to eat then take a much-needed nap.”

“Thank you…for everything…”

“Hey, I love taking care of you,” he murmured, then moved across to the dresser and picked up the tray. “We have honey glazed chicken salad and cheese and tomato sandwiches. Take your pick or have both if you want. And there are also freshly baked scones with raspberry jam and whipped cream,” he declared, raising the covers. “Hopefully the tea didn’t get cold.”

“This is great. Are you staying?”

“You bet, I’m hungry too. Then you’re taking a nap and I’ll leave to check on everything.”

“You said you had a stroke of genius. What’s the plan?” she asked, picking up a sandwich.

As he laid it out for her, she broke into a broad smile.

“You were right. It’s genius. And I’d better be there for all of it.”

“Don’t worry, like I said before, you’re invaluable.”

CHAPTER FIVE

Donovan spent the remainder of the day like a captain on a ship navigating through uncharted waters. To ensure the success of his plan he supervised every detail, including the make and model of the automobile he’d be renting.

It had to be a black SUV with tinted windows, preferably the BMWX1 or Lexus LX. They would blend in with the upscale Mayfair neighborhood, and if he needed to make a hasty retreat he wanted quick acceleration and great handling.

Though Peter insisted no member of his long-standing staff could be bribed or intimidated, Donovan insisted only the two of them and Jane would handle the work involved. When they were finally finished it was almost time for dinner. Taking a deep breath, Jane called Jimmy to confirm his arrival at midnight.

“Make sure everything’s ready and all the alarms are turned off,” Jimmy ordered. “I’m surprised your old man doesn’t have extra security by now.”

“From what I heard it’s coming tomorrow. I think that’s why the workmen will be in the basement.”

“Are you sure you don’t want to join me for the drive?”

“It’s not that I don’t want to. I can’t sneak out of the house in the middle of the night.”

“Why not? You can call in the morning. Tell him you didn’t want to wake him and you’re in London with friends.”

“Jimmy, that’s a really bad idea. The last thing he needs is me disappearing, and he’ll be worried I’m with you. One call to his powerful contacts at Scotland Yard and every police car in London will be looking for your van.”

“Too bloody bad. My business will only take five minutes then I’ll be loose on the town with all kinds of cash to spend.”

“Jimmy…who are you bringing to help you? I told you I can’t lift that damn thing again. It almost killed me. It’s just as well we were able to slide it down those basement stairs. There’s no way I can help you taking it back up.”

“You don’t have to worry, I’ll have a friend with me. He’s strong as an ox.”
