My nerves are shot, but not in a bad way. More like this has been a long time coming.
Kate, Ranger, Hargrove, and Merryweather are here to witness our big day. Along with quite the crowd of Assurance employees. The ones living at the compound needed something to lift their spirits, and a wedding with a full bar was just the thing to do it.
Also, she’s already ours.
This ceremony is overdue, but it’s necessary, since we had to legally add Garza to the pack. We could have done it with only the paperwork, but having an actual wedding to commemorate the occasion feels right.
“Congratulations,” Kate says, raising her eyebrows as she comes closer. “I signed as your witness, but I don’t technically exist, so I don’t know how that’s going to help anything.”
I frown because I have absolutely no idea what the hell she’s talking about. Reeves notarized everything earlier. Ramirez and one of the other guys were the witnesses listed.
Aurora coos, blinking up at me as her tiny arms flail. I pull her up to my cheek to nuzzle her adorable little face to mine. She’s still so damn small, but she’s gaining more personality every day.
“It’s time,” Garza says, adjusting his bow tie.
The ceremony is small, with standing room only, but we’re keeping it pretty short.
The main thing is, we’re finally giving Vale her engagement ring. She hits the end of the small aisle we set up, and my jaw falls. She’s absolutely stunning. It still throws me for a loop to see her without the baby belly, but I figure we can revisit that in a couple years, once Aurora hits two or three years old.
Marina follows Vale and stops by her husbands and Patrick’s pack while our little omega sashays her way to us. She’s in a short, flirty dress that puffs out around the waist. I’m betting her legs are cold, but again, we’re keeping the outdoor ceremony short.
The minister steps up as we surround our omega.
Vale gives me a silly smile over her shoulder as she stretches to run a hand down Aurora’s back. She mouths, “Love you.”
Good God.
She’s my perfect match.
I growl, bending down to kiss her.
“It’s not that part of the ceremony,” Garza grumbles.
“I think a kiss is a fine idea.” Mercy turns her to face him as soon as we pull back.
Holt chuckles, shaking his head. Once Vale and Mercy separate, he yanks her to him for a much dirtier kiss. “We all know I wasn’t about to miss out, sweetheart.”
Garza snorts. “I’m not getting left behind, either.” He shoulders Holt back and kisses her.
The minister clears his throat, and all our gazes swing in his direction.
“Sorry about that,” Vale says with a laugh. “We’re ready when you are.”
“You know, today was actually a perfect day,” Vale says, twisting her hand from side to side as she checks out the engagement ring. It’s a three-carat round solitaire. The wedding band currently has six circular diamonds, but we can add on as our family grows. Both are set in platinum. “My favorite day yet since Aurora was born.”
“I have to agree,” I growl, pulling her closer with a hand on her ass as we dance. The command center’s main room made a decent location for the reception, especially since the recruits are automatically on cleanup duty.
“Might I cut in?” Ranger’s voice causes my head to whip up because…
No.
No, he cannot.
Only, he’s speaking to Kate, who has been dancing with Hargrove only a few feet away.
“No,” she says blandly.
“Don’t be so sour,” Ranger says, shoving his hand into the pocket of his suit pants. “I only wished to congratulate you on your big day.”
