“Oh.” Annika looks down at me with concern written on her pretty face. “I didn’t know you were seeing anyone.”
I snort out a laugh. “Fuck no. I don’t do relationships. These are three assholes who fucked me real good.” I blink a few times when Glade laughs. “I mean fucked me over. God, I wish they fucked me. They’re so fucking sexy.” My eyes go wide, and I grab onto Annika’s arm. “Did you know they have tattoos now! Like holy-fucking-shit. Talk about slick city down there, if you know what I mean.”
“Okay, who are you, and what have you done with Jade?” Annika asks. “I don’t think I’ve ever heard you talk like this.”
“Drunk Jade is fun.” Glade grins.
“I’m always fun,” I huff.
“You, no more drinking,” Annika scolds. “I got to get back to the Spades room.”
“Byeeee.” I wave after her.
“Hey, Glade, could I get a few scotch on the rocks?” Elena asks.
“Hey, you think I’m fun, right?” I ask her.
She gives me a puzzled look. “Ahh, sure?” She gives me a shy smile. “I don’t know you that well, but I’d say so.”
“Good. Good.” I nod. “Hit me, Glade... with a drink, I mean. But hey, if you wanna knock me out for a few days, I’d be down for that too.”
Glade looks like she’s trying not to laugh, but I don’t really know what's so funny. “Here, babe.” She slides me a glass, and I down it.
“Ahh, that was good. Didn’t even taste the alcohol.”
“Good,” she chuckles. “Have another.”
I down that glass, too, but something seems... off.
“Okay, these don’t taste good. They don’t taste like anything,” I huff, taking a sniff of my glass. “Is this water?” I ask, narrowing my eyes.
Glade just grins and goes to serve another customer.
“Sneaky girl. I’m going to pee,” I grumble.
Not wanting to use the restrooms that the clients use, I move upstairs to the break room. When I’m done, I wash my hands and head back down to the bar. I’m not going to drink anymore, but I’ll keep Glade company. Or maybe the other way around.
When I get there, I find Ruby, another omega who works here, picking up a drink order.
“Hey, Jade.”
“Hi.” I give her a small smile as I take a seat on one of the stools.
She picks the tray up, holding it on one hand. “Just wanted to let you know that the guys from last night are here.”
My stomach drops, and my palms grow sweaty, but I do my best to come across unaffected. “Oh, really?” I ask, drumming my fingers on the bar top.
“Yeah. I just wanted you to have a heads up... in case you run into them.”
“Thanks for that. Any chance you know where they are, just so I can avoid them?”
She gives me a nervous look. “Ah, well... they actually booked a room.”
My heart rate picks up. “I’m sorry. They what?” I blink at her, trying not to freak the fuck out. Booking a room in this place only means one thing.
“They booked a room,” she repeats, looking at Glade and then me like she said something she shouldn’t have.
“With who?” I screech, my voice cracking a little. I’m really starting to freak the fuck out now.
