“Thanks, and so is your fucking nose,” I grumble.
“Be happy it’s not fucking broken and that makeup will cover it.” He narrows his eyes, flipping me off. “Anyway, here’s what I found out about Jade.”
“Is that where you were?” I ask him.
He nods. “Called a new fucking PI because the one we hired clearly sucks fucking ass since he found plenty of shit about Jade spanning all these years. And here’s the kicker, she never fucking left Vegas.”
“What?” Everett looks at him with wide eyes. “You're telling me she’s been here this whole fucking time?”
Griffin nods. “This is all he could get on short notice. There’s no information yet on where she was when we went looking for her between the time she was seventeen until she turned eighteen, but about three weeks after her eighteenth birthday she started at The High Roller. She’s been working there ever since.”
“Are you fucking kidding me!” I roar. I scramble off the bed and begin pacing the room, ignoring the pain in my eye. “She’s been here. This whole fucking time? I’m going to fucking kill Mark. I’m going to wrap my hands around his fucking neck and get off on watching the life drain from his fucking eyes.”
“You're not killing anyone,” Everett sighs.
“Watch me. Fucking watch me. We hired that man, spent nearly a fucking million dollars to find Jade, and he came back with nothing. He made it seem like she was dead. How the fuck could that be when your guy found out more about Jade in what, an hour?”
“I don’t know,” Griffin says. “We can find that out later. What matters is we have Jade now.”
“Damn right. We’re going back tomorrow, and we’re going to make her listen.”
“Zane,” Everett starts, but I’m in his face in a flash.
“Don’t fucking ‘Zane’ me. I love you, I’d fucking kill anyone who fucked with the two of you, but her...” I shake my head. “She’s the only fucking reason why I made it this far.”
“You're not gonna go about this the logical way, are you?” he asks, sounding defeated, knowing there’s no point in arguing with me when I have my mind set on something.
“When it comes to Jade, nothing is logical. Our biggest mistake was not telling her she was ours when we were younger.”
“You know the only reason we didn’t was because if we got caught, those waste of space fuckers would have split us up,” Everett reminds us.
“Add them to the fucking list of people we need to take care of.”
Griffin takes a seat on the edge of the bed. “She’s been here this whole time. Working at that club.” A dark look takes over his face. “You know what they do there, right? It’s not just dancing for a bunch of rich alphas.”
The thought of someone else's hands on Jade’s body fills me with a blind rage. “I know that look,” Everett growls. “I don’t like the idea of anyone else touching our girl, but we’re not innocent.”
“Yeah. But that's different, that's with each other.”
“Maybe she won't see it that way,” Griffin chuckles.
“Fuck you,” I snarl.
“Later, if you ask nicely.” He grins. Normally, I’d take him up on his offer, but I’m seconds away from losing my shit.
“Enough,” Everett huffs. “This is what we’re going to do. You.” He points to me. “You’re going to take some fucking painkillers, keep that ice on your eye, and get some sleep,” he orders in his best alpha voice, one that makes my cock hard. “And you, you're going to do the same, but with your nose. God, Gianna is going to lose her shit if we can’t cover that up with makeup.”
“Good thing we have a few days off,” Griffin counters, pulling his shirt off over his head as he rids himself of his shoes.
My eyes linger on his body, my cock twitching in my pants. I have to rip my eyes away from him before I do something we don’t have time for.
“We leave for our International tour in a few days. So we have until then to convince Jade to be ours.”
Oh, my sweet, sweet boy, always trying to be the hero. He’s going to learn fast that there is no hero in this story. I’m more than happy to be Jade’s villain because there's no way I’d ever give her the chance to say no. It’s not an option. We will talk, give her a chance to make the choice for herself. But if it’s not the right one, then I will do whatever’s necessary to make sure she comes with us.
Jade is ours. And she might not like it now, but over time, she will. I’ll make her.
