She looks up at me, her big brown eyes staring right into my blue eyes. The cutest fucking smile expands across her lips. She can’t help but look away from me with rosy cheeks and adorable dimples.
How is this woman real?
“Can I have it now?”
“I’ll spray it on the inside of your wrist first. Let’s see if you really like it before you bathe yourself in it.”
“Fine.” She rolls her eyes and stretches out her arm, flipping it over and making a loose fist, so I can see the inside of her arm.
I run my index finger up and down her forearm. “How are your forearms so smooth?”
“You ask the most random questions.”
“How much do you want to bet you love my random questions?”
She ignores me because she's adamant about getting my cologne all over her body, but I need to make sure that’s what she really wants.
I press down on the top of the cologne bottle, releasing a steady stream onto the interior part of the skin on Dani’s wrist.
She lifts her arm up to her nose, inhaling the fresh scent. “Give it to me, so I can douse myself, Lover Boy.”
“Are you sure?”
The corner of her lips twists up. “Oh, I’m sure.”
I sway my head from side to side, flattening my lips.
Giving her the bottle, she sprays it several inches away from her body and shimmies through the transparent cloud that’s expanding in the air.
My nose picks up hints of mint, orange, and the ocean.
Why does it smell even better on her than it does on me?
She’s back at the sink, combing her damp hair.
I walk up behind her, grab the comb out of her hand, and place it down on the countertop. My arms hug her waist, making their way around her stomach.
She looks at our reflections in the mirror, closing her eyes as the biggest smile takes shape on her beautiful face.
My chin is resting on her shoulder.
Her eyes open and meet mine. “Can I help you?”
My lips make contact with the nape of her neck.
She turns around and extends her arms out, running her fingers through my wet hair.
She furrows her eyebrows, sliding her hands out of my hair. “I need to get dressed. And so do you.” She jumps up to kiss my forehead, but she kisses my nose instead.
“Fine. Get dressed. When you’re done, come into the kitchen. You’ll see what I picked up for breakfast while I was out.” I plant a kiss on her cheek before walking out of the bathroom.
As I make my way to the doorway, Dani says something to me with her warm and welcoming eyes.
She makes me feel weightless because gravity doesn’t exist when I’m with her.
I never want this feeling to go away.
I’m in the kitchen, preparing breakfast. I’m cutting bagels I picked up from Kailani’s on a giant cutting board.
