ME

Did she forget Noah’s been in the house with me for a little over a month now? And the fact I told her that I don’t have the urge to murder him with the damn flashlight anymore.
If anything, I want nothing more than to run into his arms and kiss him until he takes my breath away.
The thing is he takes my breath away without even trying.
CHAPTER FORTY-ONE
noah
Dani pulls up a chair next to me and I get a whiff of her signature scent.
Sweet peaches.
I’m a fucking goner for her.
I’m sensing she’s about to punch me in the arm. I don’t know why. I just feel it in my bones. I’m not in the mood to have another bruise on my arm.
I deserve a medal for putting up with this shit.
“Don’t even think about it,” I say as my face and body stiffen.
I watch her wet her lips with the tip of her tongue. “I have no idea what you’re talking about.”
“Sure you don’t.” I cross my arms in front of my chest, leaning back in the chair.
She gulps so deep that the veins in her neck are popping out. “You don’t scare me.”
Challenge accepted.
“I might not scare you, but I know for a fact that I make you nervous.”
She smacks her lips together. “You keep talking about how you make me nervous.”
She moves her chair closer to me, her thighs sliding in between mine.
Fuck, I’m a dead man.
I’m instantly hard. I don’t know how Dani doesn’t see the obvious bulge pressing against my shorts.
“Let’s talk about the fact that I make you nervous.”
There’s no question that you make me nervous.
