“I saw you try to seduce him. Touch him one more time, and I’ll rip your red hair off your scalp, bitch.”

Wow. That took a turn I didn’t expect. I wondered if she was one of the girls Maxim used to sleep with or if she simply had a crush on him. Either way, I wasn’t going to sit here and let her talk down on me. “I would suggest you watch your tone, Camilla. Trust me, you wouldn’t want to mess with me.”

She snorted. “Or what? I can have you thrown out of here if I want. Maxim won’t stop me.”

I inhaled, doing my absolute best not to let my anger get the best of me. “That’s enough. I want to drink in peace, not fight you.”

“You must think you’re better than me.”

I shook my head. “You clearly have a knack for misunderstanding people.”

“How about this?” She plopped her hand on the front bar and leaned towards me. I picked up my drink and pressed the rim on my lips, anticipating what she was going to say. “Max and I are going home together tonight. I suggest you leave first unless you want to be embarrassed.”

A chuckle ripped from my throat, and I nearly choked on my drink. She had to be joking. There was no way she was being this nasty over a man that didn’t even want her.

She crossed her arms over her chest, frowning at me. “What’s funny? Do I look like a clown to you?”

“You might as well get a costume and find a circus. I’m pretty sure you’ll fit in well.”

She opened her mouth to speak, and I raised my hand to stop her. There was only one way to shut her up, and I wasn’t afraid to play that card. “Just so you know, I am the mother of Maxim’s children. I don’t think he’ll like it very much if he finds you being rude to me.”

“Liar.”

I pointed at the red door. “Why don’t you walk to that room and ask him yourself? You won’t like the answer.”

She waved her hand dismissively and rolled her eyes. “If he’s your man, then you should do a better job at taking care of him. You have no idea how hard he gets around me. Do you want to hear the dirty words he whispers in my ears while he fucks me?”

Jealousy festered in my chest. The thought of Maxim kissing and making love to another woman that wasn’t me made me cringe. He was mine, and I wasn’t going to share him.

I understood we’d broken up and lived far away from each other for six years, but no other woman was allowed to touch him while I was actively a part of his life. I had a feeling he wouldn’t betray me like that though.

“Keep it to yourself.” I finished my drink and slammed my glass on the table. Leaning towards her, my eyes darkened. “I won’t blame you for fucking him when I was away, but I’m back now, and I’m not very good at sharing. Try to seduce him or even look his way and I’ll make sure my face is the last thing you see before I gouge your eyes out.”

Her breath quickened. Fear bled into her eyes. “You wouldn’t do that.”

“Honey, you have no idea what I can do.” I sat back and smirked. “Finish your drink.”

Her jaw quivered, her hands trembling as she picked her cocktail. Where the hell was Damien, and why hadn’t he come yet?

“What’s going on here?”

Camilla and I whirled our heads to Maxim. I smiled, reached for his arm, and held him tight. “I was telling Camilla here about our children.”

Maxim gave Camilla an unimpressed look. “Leave, and don’t ever step into my club again.”

Camilla hurriedly grabbed her things. No arguments or excuses as she scurried away.

“What did she say to you?” Maxim asked after she left.

I shrugged. “Nothing serious. I just heard all about the things you used to whisper in her ear while you fucked her.”

He scrutinized my face. “That was before we got back together.”

“I see.”

“Gianna, are you being jealous right now?”

I was, and I didn’t need to hide it. “Yes, I am. You’re my first everything, and I’ve never been with another man since I met you. But it looked to me like you were having the time of your life all these years.”
