“I don’t know. I’ve never done anything like this before.”

She bit her lip. That excited her even more for some reason. The fact that Cam wanted to do something new just with her. “Then make me lose my mind.”

She didn’t have to say it twice as he gripped her more firmly, guiding her hand back to the float with the other one. “Hang on,” was his only warning before his hand began its magical work again, causing Emma’s breath to quicken, her chest curving forward as she pressed into that viciously delicious touch of his. The momentum built from a slow and lavish pulse to a quickened pumping as he slid those wicked fingers in and out of her, her body meeting him thrust for thrust, riding his hand like it was her salvation.

Emma was sure anyone with eyes could guess what was happening and she didn’t give a rat’s ass. It felt too good to care. Her eyes closed, her head tilted back, and her muscles all tightened as she felt the tingly sensations begin cascading over her body.

Cam had never been more thankful to have her facing him and away from everyone else, because Emma was a sight of pure euphoria as her orgasm came crashing over her and he felt every ounce of her strength restricting around his hand, her mouth falling open, the most delectable sounds escaping it unabashedly. He was sure he’d never seen anything so sexy in his life as this woman coming apart just for him.

When she rode that final wave on his hand, he felt her entire body relax and she let her head collapse against the back of the float. He slowly removed his fingers, giving her clit one last gentle stroke before shimmying her bottoms back up into place.

They floated for a few moments, her legs still around him and Cam now bracing himself on the float too. When she finally opened her eyes, she saw him lying there, his chin on top of his stacked hands, a very satisfied look on his face.

“I think that’s the best payback I’ve ever received,” Emma said, earning her a loud laugh from him.

“Good thing that was just for the tanning lotion then,” Cam responded. “I still owe you for the unnecessary fake sex.”

She couldn’t help but smile at what that implied.

Cam reached forward and lightly traced the side of her face with his finger. “I want to kiss you so bad.”

The feeling that hit her chest was indescribable. She’d have thought after what she’d just let him do to her, that his statement wouldn’t have much effect, but instead, it felt intimate, vulnerable.

“Are you going to?” she asked.

He removed his hand. “Not yet.”

The disappointment washed over her.

“But soon.”

Her heart skipped a beat.

Chapter 19

The bathroom was filled with steam whenever Cam stepped out of the shower. Emma hadn’t made it back yet, but he knew they were all meeting for dinner tonight and he needed to get around for it.

After their little escapade in the water, a memory that he was sure would make his cock twitch every time he thought of it, Lulu came splashing into the ocean not too long after and the intimate little bubble they had created out there all alone had popped. They were back in reality with all of the other vacationers and though Lulu decided not to conduct an interrogation about whatever it was she could pick up on between them, her presence was enough to have them keeping a little bit of distance.

Not that Cam cared if she or anyone else saw him with Emma. He’d sooner let a truck run him over before feeling shame over how he had come to feel about this incredible woman he’d met. Maybe it was the hopeful and romantic side of him, but Cam couldn’t help but feel that their lives were meant to cross, especially in the way that they did.

They’d spent the rest of the morning on the beach and swimming with Lulu, Lauren, and Asher until lunch. Besides the flirtatious comments and compliments he couldn’t help but throw Emma’s way, he managed to keep his hands off of her. Even if he never stopped thinking about how good she felt in them.

They all had lunch together, and since the spa didn’t have any openings for massages, the women decided to spend time together and receive some pampering this afternoon.

Cam grabbed a towel from the bathroom rack and began drying off before wrapping it around his waist.

He was glad Emma was getting to spend this time with her friends. He hoped this trip was proving more relaxing and fulfilling than she’d initially thought it would be. He still remembered how stressed she’d sounded regarding it back in Dallas.

He opened the bathroom door and walked into the empty room. She still hadn’t made it back yet, so he decided to get dressed and respond to his friends’ messages and a few from coworkers before heading downstairs. A small part of Cam worried that once word got out about who he was vacationing with, his colleagues would judge him or some might be jealous thinking he had an in with Henry.

He’d never use this time as a way to take advantage of that working relationship. Of course, he wanted to make a good impression, but that was no different here in St. Croix versus on a company phone call. However, Cam could tell it wouldn’t matter if he had cunning intentions or not in terms of climbing ladders and networking. He knew Henry wasn’t the type to fall for manipulation easily, outside the fake dating anyhow.

He blew out a breath. Hopefully, that was something that would remain under wraps, both for his reputation and Emma’s sake. He hated the idea of anything coming to light that would humiliate her.

As he made his way to the door, the knob turned before he could grab it. A very bright smiling Emma swung it open and took a step in before coming to a halt.

“Oh,” she expressed. “Sorry.”
